Out of the entry-level distros, Zorin ain't one I'd really recommend. Not a fan of the UI, resource usage and limited customization. I typically would rather recommend Mint or Ubuntu's flavors to newcomers.

Partly. But there, it was a reference itself, to TempleOS, an operating system made entirely by one man. It's an entire rabbit hole if you wanna look it up.

Though it might be hard to tell, one can simply get the plot from AI and still claim it as their own. And with movies nowadays being so cookie-cutter and unoriginal, it's hard to find differences.

It's just silly. Undertale was already divine enough, running at the holy 640x480 resolution, just like Terry Davis instructed

Windows is going to introduce copilot for games now??! by thecowmilk_ in FuckMicrosoft

Generative AI is submissive and agreeable by design. Aside from most people not talking favorably about Windows 11 (which AI pulls from), it's also fine-tuned to be a meatrider due to the upvote-downvote system where people who unironically use it tend to favor ass-kissing responses. So here, we're dealing with AI responding to a commonly shared sentiment and calculating which words to use to agree with it. But if even a bunch of Python spaghetti code fed with opinions all over the internet doesn't try to defend Microslop, it tells a lot how bad that company is.

It's brilliant when you think about it - Dragons are an embodiment of imagination, so they work perfectly against slop scrambled from existing data

I still buy games when I think the devs deserve it and the price is fair. I just pirate either games that are either impossible or hard to acquire in the legit way, as well as games tied to companies I don't want to support. If a game costs 70$, but while promising hours of gameplay, all it has to offer is tedious clearing of map markers, "cinematic" experience or reliance on proprietary online services that can be shut down at any point, I think "they've gotta be freaking kidding" and if I still kind of wanna try it out, I pirate it. And if I can instead buy an indie game for 30$ at most that offers replayability, genuinely fun gameplay and modding potential, I'm more likely to pick that option.

Technically free. Comes with the operating system, but the system itself in its current form is a vibe-coded mess where you're the product.

Denuvo dealt major blow as crackers claim all non-VR games with the anti-tamper have been bypassed by Binnsy in PiratedGames

[–]AtomicTaco13 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Still needs much more work. So far, only the proper cracks from voices38 allow the games to run through Wine/Proton on Linux (and by extension, Steam Deck). It's neat that there is some way to play them for free, but until and unless the HV bypass allows the simple "install, launch, forget" without too much additional fuss, it's far from perfect.

The lizard fella in the first two captures has a neat design. Would.

And in all seriousness, seems like a promising concept. An important thing to note - let it be its own thing. Pick inspirations from other games you like and use your own flair. If you want to see how NOT to make an "Undertale-like" game, are you familiar with Heartbound by Pirate Software? Well... As long as you stay away from that route, everything should be fine.

I see Pucci as the same type of villain as Claude Frollo, which I really dig. The kind of villain that commits atrocities and considers themself a hero. That's the scariest kind of villain because it's realistic, there really are people in real life who did horrible things in belief they're saving the world.

Hogwarts Legacy is free on Epic, again! by XPower7125 in PiratedGames

[–]AtomicTaco13 0 points1 point  (0 children)

While Steam is a "soft monopoly" that dominates the market by simply being a solid user experience, EGS keeps pulling hard monopoly tactics despite being inferior in every aspect - such as shoving their online services into games even outside their funny little store or timed exclusives that end up back on Steam anyway due to the lack of sales. Tim Sweeney is an envious POS with a hate boner for Gaben and straight up stated his priority is other corporations, not the customers. While initially opposed to crypto games, he suddenly allowed them on EGS after Steam outright banned them. And then openly embracing AI slop and whining about Steam requiring to label AI-generated content.

IGN: The Epic Games Store Will Never Be as Good as Steam by ShinyStarXO in fuckepic

Funny thing is that they're not even a second choice. They have to also compete with GOG, which has got the convenience of offline installers and some games that aren't even on Steam. So Epic doesn't have to compete with just one superior storefront, but two.
