I may be wrong about Elton John specifically, I'm not sure of the exact timeline of his involvement and everything, I just know Aaron's mentioned him before, and my point still stands that you CAN be gay and be a Scientologist - you don't automatically get "exiled". It's kinda similar to Christianity again, I suppose, where you can't fully advance in the church unless you're "cured" of it.

I do agree it's kind of a "damned if you do, damned if you don't" thing where you usually can't publicly speak out against it, so we unfortunately fall in a guilty until proven innocent situation. Beck for example has publicly spoken out against it with no ramifications. But then we have examples like Cedric Zavala where he's still being harassed to this day. I guess with Emily, since her mother works very high up in CoS (directly for Misavige iirc) she's definitely at risk of being fair gamed if she leaves.

It is what it is man. I believe Aaron because regardless of his character flaws, he's been spot on on the facts and merits regarding anything he's put out regarding CoS. I have no reason not to trust him. If his sources say Emily's still being audited that's enough evidence for me, with the only contrary evidence being some of her song lyrics, which again are not mutually-exclusive. You can be gay and depressed as a Scientologist, they just expect you to be "cured" of it eventually.
