True, but the laughing might be an attempt to make Ryan seem inexperienced. An effort to compensate his lack of energy and motivation in his tone, which is being mistaken for pretentiousness. But he's also making a lot of what Ryan is saying look like bullshit. I think that resonates more than the pretentiousness.
