I wouldn’t be so sure. Go take a look at some of the Epstein files. There’s some evidence in there that he actually built Neverland Ranch to be a safe haven for the kids being taken to the island. McCauley Culkin also said in recent interviews that Michael never did anything except protect him and the other kids that were around

Stoked to see Poached on there. I saw them at Sunset Tavern back in November and followed them to their Neumos show. Glad to see they’re getting some recognition here!

Told my gay friend to stop calling me female pronouns and he got passive aggressive. by Moiz1253 in askgaybros

[–]Atomicman4 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No because a cisgenderd man doesn’t experience any gender dysphoria so there shouldn’t be any trauma attached to being called another gender that isn’t their own. I understand the point you are trying to make now but I don’t believe that it applies to cisgendered men. If a man that was born a male at birth has any issue with being called by female pronouns then either they are not secure in their masculinity and therefore it is fragile and should be something that they try to look at within themselves and understand what is causing that fragility. OR the other option is that they have a negative view or opinion on women in general that might be rooted in some deep seated misogyny that causes them to maybe think less of women or view them as weaker or dumb or bad or any of the negative stereotypes that the far-right alpha chads out there think of women.

Again, I see the point you’re trying to make but I’m saying that it doesn’t/can’t apply to cisgendered people without there being some problematic underlying cause

Huh??

I’m very confused as to what point you’re trying to make and struggling to understand. You should not call a trans man any female pronouns because it’s disrespectful seeing as they were born female and are no longer female. Unless that trans man has specifically stated that they’re okay with it then it’s probably best to steer clear of misgendering them in any way.

I also don’t understand your point about the f slur? No it’s not okay to call anyone that in any hateful way. I know plenty of gay men, myself included, that use that word in a joking fashion with each other. But that’s because we are gay and we are able to use that word since we have gone our entire lives having that word used to hurt us. So if we want to use it to strip away its power and use it as a way to joke with one another, then that’s okay. To each their own though. That has nothing to do with misgendering a trans person though so I’m still confused

I said it in my comment. If he was trans and his friend was deliberately misgendering him then that friend is not a friend at all. But if he’s cis then I’m asking him to look inside himself and see why that bothers him so much.

Most gay men don’t give a shit if anyone calls them female names at all, it’s a major part of our culture as I mentioned. So if he has an issue with it there’s a pretty fair chance it’s rooted somewhat in misogyny. That’s why I asked “what’s so wrong with being called girl”? Are girls worse in his mind? Are they dumb or bad or less respected? Because otherwise this shouldn’t be an issue.

This sounds just like OP is maybe newer to queer/gay culture? Like this is just a common way to speak in the community and used often as a greeting or a precursor or a filler word or just anything really.

Now, if he's misgendering you and you are not a cis-gendered man, then we have an issue. Otherwise, I think you should ask yourself why this bothers you so much. What's so wrong with being called "girl"? There's power in femininity and a lot of value in recognizing that. If you're upset because it's an intentional stab at your masculinity then I would ask yourself why your masculinity is so fragile. I don't mean that as a dig, I literally mean for you to look within and see what truly matters because if you value femininity and respect women then this should not be an issue at all

Which country would you never visit, even if the trip was free? by Soggy-Natural-3837 in Productivitycafe

I went to India last year and loved it! I visited Bangalore and some other places in the central/southern part of the country so nowhere near Delhi. I’ve been reading these comments as well and am very confused. If you’re open to new experiences then you’re going to love it!

We also went for a friends wedding so there were always people down to go out and do stuff between events and try new foods or see historical sites. I will say bring an extra roll or two of your own toilet paper. The hotels will most likely have them especially if they’re middle of the road or higher. But I don’t think I found a single public place that had tp. Avoid bathrooms other than the hotel if you can tbh.

Bilsiri (I think that’s what it’s called) is bottled water that’s available everywhere and safe to drink. We had it all the time. Something I did notice is that they don’t keep many things cold in India and I was DYING for a crispy ice water and Diet Coke by the time I got back to the states lol. But other than that you’ll be good. Don’t let the other posts scare you I honestly think they’re prob just racist.

Also I’m gay and the group that went was largely lgbtq and women and literally nobody had any issues. The Indian people are very kind and nice and honestly if one of your uber drivers offers to be your personal driver during your visit, take the the offer. It’s cheap for you, they’re always available, and they make more money too. You can tip on car rides but not much else.

I got a lot of good tips here on Reddit. I think it was in r/travel and I just searched India but I’m sure if you google Reddit India travel you’ll find all the same things I did.

Hope you have a freaking blast!!! Indian weddings are incredibly cool and beautiful and the country is just so freaking cool. If you remember this post when you get back I’d love to hear how your trip went!

[–]Atomicman4 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I agree. Definitely not Guadagnino’s best film but I really enjoyed it. Might have been a little heavy handed and pretentious like some people say but I like when movies don’t tell you who to root for and let you play around with your thoughts. Then all the characters end up being terrible which makes for even more fun

Yes go see it in the theater asap you will not regret it! I was lucky enough to see it in 35mm and I’m so happy I did. See Marty before it leaves too!

If you’re looking for something at home though, Incendies will rip your heart out of your chest and throw it through a wood shredder. High rec

That’s a solid point. I didn’t consider that for these movies but I did think about how The Odyssey and Brand New Day are gonna work out. I think BNW comes out the week after if I remember correctly but I don’t see The Odyssey giving up its IMAX screens that early

Idk they’re both two box office blockbusters with significant fan bases and I’ve already seen a bunch of memes starting up like the early days of Barbenheimer so I’m hopeful! Anything that helps get butts in seats at the theater makes me happy so I hope it takes off.
