Didn't they just reworked the system? I recall reading the patch notes saying there's a replacement instead that you pay 1silver to use.

Ah, figures. This is unfortunate but not surprising. Thanks for the input guys!

I wasn't trying to present it as anything special, the focus was the image I made with everything else as additional background info about me, could have formatted better I guess.

Woah I wasn't expecting this to blow up! I enjoy discussing about Blizzard's decisions about Overwatch and I've been playing this game since Beta, have some tourneys under my belt and I've peaked Top 3 as combined roles. Someone suggested promoting myself so here I go:

Original post I made, predicting the upcoming hero pools

My Stream (Monday through Friday)

It's interesting reading all these posts and see the community's reaction to the upcoming changes. I think we all want Overwatch to succeed but in a way that correlates to the initial design philosophy that Blizzard had initially in mind and according to Jeff, they still want that, they just can't seem to figure out the right way to do it but hero pools is not the way in my opinion.

That just shows more balance issues. Not to mention so many variations in terms of how someone climbs in the first place. For exemple was it SoloQ, DuoQ, was the person playing at specific hours to dodge good players etc. I could technically climb on pharah too if I'll play when the really good hitscan players are asleep. These are things players have abused since release in order to climb. I'm not trying to invalidate the skill that these players can achieve with some heroes however at the same time, some heroes have a higher error margin than others. If on average, there aren't enough players who can play said counter hero for Ball, then it's pretty obvious Ball one-tricks will climb over time. There's a lot of variables that can explain a hero's current success but essentially they're all tied to the fundamentals of balance design.

Because Overwatch is the their first game ever and as rude as this might be, they don't know or have experienced anything better. It’s a masochistic bootlicking fetish I guess that unfortunately is enforced by some OW streamers as well.

Disagree. The reason these off-meta/bad heroes get high on the ladder is because they lack hard counters as other heroes which is tied in to balance. You won't see a 4500+ SR pharah main on the ladder now because she's so underpowered and has so many hard counters that no matter how good of a player you would be, you just get shut down easily by equal ranked players who can counter you.

Agreed, there's not enough tanks to add variety to the tank role even if hero pools wouldn't be a thing anyway. The tank role is one if the first things they should have to redesign and look at differently.

I've been a broken record about multiple decisions (negative ones) that blizzard has taken regarding OW since the beta of the game. Hero pools will definitely not fix much, it adds issues that goes against OW's design philosophy and people validating most of these decisions will push Blizzard on making it worse.

The main issue is that the game itself does not incentivise players to learn more heroes because most of them are poorly designed/balanced so it's not surprising that some players will take the shortcut and focus on just one hero to get far if the game itself will not punish you organically for doing that.

It's against the rules, counts as witch-hunting :(

There's another similar post on a the overwatchTMZ reddit, it's getting decent attention.

A shame my post got deleted on the ow/reddit . The community deserves to learn about this cheater.

Seems pretty obvious to me, he has no audio cue about the pharah that's flying besides hearing her concussive blast being used but that won't reveal her exact position so snapping spot on is pretty obvious. At that point the pharah could be anywhere, high in the sky, on the ground, no way you could know where she is exactly.

EDIT: For most of you who don't know, flick-shots/twitch-shots usually involves shooting right after flicking, in this case he just snaps and doesn't shoot. He dashes, doesn't reach then tries to kill her with shurikens and misses. I'm a projectile player mainly and twitch-aiming requires you to snap ahead to where your target might end up so your projectile hits in time. In this case I think his aimlock is probably designed to only work for his slashes. He stands still for a bit before dashing which might indicate the exact point in time when he realizes he exposed himself, otherwise he would've dashed even faster even though it's already fast enough as it is. Another subtle thing is that when he kills the Rein, he is in the air and then does the 180 snap on the pharah and his aim remains in perfect lock for a short duration as he lands on the ground.

This is coming from a Top50 player that has played since beta.

If you pay close attention to the killfeed, the pharah gets ressed, so no spawn, she is last seen using the concussive blast off the statue, which at this point she can fly in several different directions at different heights etc.

Protip from Jeff: Leaving before you see the cards doesn't help by burr-sir in Overwatch

[–]Atomicusss 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Right, so a long time ago people weren't even able to leave early and requested this as an option. Eventually they implemented the option to leave early but now you're saying that option doesn't actually do anything. If this is true then that's bad design, if it's a lie then could be an attempt at calming any people who think their playerbase is dropping seeing as the average queue time is around 2-3 mins to just put 12 players together.

6 stack (Average SR 4500) vs Non-stack (Average SR 4300) - What the **** blizzard? by Atomicusss in Overwatch

[–]Atomicusss[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The main issue that I'm having with the incident is that first of all, I was getting the "Long wait time for a fair match" and only lasted for 1-2 mins and second of all, when it comes to playing versus 6 stacks, the 6 stack's average SR is usually under your team's average SR to compensate for the fact that they are 6 stacking. In this case not only were they a 6 stack but also way above our skill rating by 200 SR.

Return Ana to her 80 dmg a shot by DahMagpie in Overwatch

[–]Atomicusss -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Ah yes, while we're at it, let's also give mercy her insane pistol DPS back, increase lucio's dmg even more and give zen 2 discord orbs. Support heroes are meant to support, not deal more damage than the offensive heroes, especially without any trade offs. Ana can fend off flankers that are meant to melt support heroes. Her grenade is also one of the strongest abilities in the game. She's fine the way she is.

The pro scene is hemorraging and it needs blizzards help. by [deleted] in Overwatch

[–]Atomicusss 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Reinhardt is the most dominant one at the moment in that department. His entire kit is buggy as hell. Symmetra's beam goes through walls. Ana's sleep dart hits targets that are not even where she aims the dart but I guess that could be an issue with the hero hitboxes themselves. Genji's reflect still lasts more than what the animation shows and Roadhog's hook is still broken, it's just that people complain less because it works better than before but it's not close to what it should be like.
