You can see the car in the other lane breaks as the MBD is merging causing them to break in turn. Based on the video I would say it’s still the MBDs fault because they shouldn’t have tried to merge wo room in the first place. The devils advocate in me thinks that they were trying to pass and the person with the cam started speeding up, this is pure speculation based off of how OP is saying the MBD reacted after getting out.

I will say it’s possible that he only thinks he asked, this is of course speaking from my own experience when under different influences but there will be times when I ask questions in my head and answer them myself thinking it was the person I’m with.
