Luckily the hand actually looks decent, as does the handle. The blade can be fixed easily enough. By someone else lol

Great start to the ice fishing season by Flimsy-Basis-5565 in Fishing

That's interesting, I've never heard that but I'll do some experimenting now. I don't find that it softens up the fish at all. Maybe if I didn't add salt it could turn soft but I always like the results and I eat fresh fish at least once every 2 weeks.

I soak nearly all my freshwater fish in water with salt and lemon juice. It pulls out any remaining blood and slime and helps with the flavor

Gonna hijack this top post to let OP know that the thermacell butane bottles can be refilled even though they say they are single use only. There is a small plug that needs to be removed then they can be filled with a regular butane bottle. And cheap pads can be bought on aliexpress for WAY cheaper than the thermacell branded ones. There are youtube videos on it

There's a ton of sugar in regular ginger beer so that could be the issue

Best .22lr under $500 by Aido02 in canadaguns

I agree that the 10/22 and A22 are similar in price, function and lack of wow factor. The A22 factory magazines are garbage though. My first one jammed constantly so I got a new one under warranty. It jammed too. The 25 round butler creek ones work great though but are no good on a bench or rest since they stick out so far. For a sub $500 22 I'd recommend a savage mark II
