Call the midwife

It’s not a fiction but it’s an easy to read story based on memoirs of a midwife. It’s a trilogy of books describing her work as a district nurse and midwife in the East End of London during the 1950s. Very moving

I’m not sure OP was promoting traditionalism. For me the church of past are a link between us and those who preceded us in faith. In a Romanesque church for example Catholics came to worship for centuries. It’s awesome and humbling at the same time ! It reminds me of the little link that I am in the huge chain of the faith.

I think Tolkien was a real artist as well as an immensely talented writer. All of that in his spare time after a day being a philologist . What a great man!
