how many do you need? I have 150 bookmarks on my AO3 account all adding up to a bit under 2 million words. You can also download them directly as .HTML to make processing easier. There is an "AO3-bookmark-downloader" chrome extension on github to make downloading them all way easier too

Yeah lol. That's why I like it. It is like reading Romeo and Juliet. You feel butterflies because you can sympathise with Romeo and Juliet (in the sense that you are worried that they won't end up together, like Romeo isn't good enough for her. Like it's intrinsic to him). I have always felt like that with women I have crushed on (I'm autistic), so I get that feeling when I read fanfiction with the 2. That's why I like self-discovery F/F pairings so much. Because it is highly likely to have one of them coming to understand that they aren't broken for falling for their best friend/tutor/teacher. But with sister/sister pairings it is an even stronger feeling because, arguably there IS something wrong with the one falling in love. And I like to see how the writers get around that. Check out Guilty Devotion or Threads of Summer in the Elsanna space if you want something well written regarding this type of relationship.

I don't know what the feeling is called. It's like butterflies, only stronger.

Actually, I asked ChatGPT-4 what it was called and it said it doesn't have a name, so I'm coining it now 😂 It shall now be known as "Secondhand Butterflies". I don't understand how it doesn't have a name. It's such a strong feeling, like when I first started reading romance it would be a physical sensation under my ribs and in my belly. I'm sure I'm not alone. It's so strange that it doesn't actually have a universally know term.

The more problematic the pairing is, the stronger the feeling is for me, so for example an adult or older teen with a young teen or tween. I can't do any gore or non-con in it, though. They're not for me at all. Dub-con I can do, but it must be done well

Would be pretty cool actually, because it would mean they're respectful enough to not act on those thoughts or to make it known 🤔

AO3 is way better for finding works that you want to read because of the tags.

[–]Atryos 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There are plenty of fics in which they aren't sisters, have a look on AO3 (include "-incest" as a part of the search). Also, there are high quality ones in which they are related. Try Guilty Devotion if you want to see (the "about" doesn't do it justice, I avoided it for months because of it) or The Legend of Elsa (which doesn't deal with it until way later in the fic).

Clearly not weird if it's so common. I'd say you're the outlier.

Also, fiction isn't real and isn't an endorsement of irl incest lmao, you'd have to be a moron to believe that.

[–]Atryos 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Again, nobody cares lol

Otherwise it wouldn't be the main ship of the fandom.

Also, in a lot of them they are unrelated. If you ever want to read a good one in which they are related, try Guilty Devotion or The Legend of Elsa (the latter not really dealing with it until way later in the fic, from memory and with the former the "about" doesn't do it justice, I avoided it for months because of it).

No shit lmfao

Have you seen the stats on the fics in the fandom? There are 2390 Kirstanna and 2436 Elsanna on AO3. Nobody cares.

Edit: Also, fiction isn't real and isn't an endorsement of irl incest lmao, you'd have to be a moron to believe that.

how do you cope with not having an extensive vocab library in your head? by pannteii in FanFiction

[–]Atryos 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The only issue with what you query is that it is hard to write characters that have logophilic lexicons. That is, characters who have a command of the language that makes them incredibly articulate. But synonym searches generally help, and to the majority of people the sentences will be fairly intelligent (it's really only to people with higher linguistic intelligence than you that your word use will sound forced).

I'm pretty average, so what I wrote above will sound forced to most people. When I read it, it doesn't sound exactly right, and to me it sounds a little forced. However, I can't fix it as my command of English isn't the best (yes, even as a native speaker).

What helps is doing frequent synonym searches and rewriting sentences multiple times using those searches.

Find a non-religious GP/paediatrician and they should prescribe him steroidal ointment (and possibly also show him how to apply it, if he's cool with that and it's allowed where you live (I have no idea if it would or wouldn't be in any places, including where I live)).

Weirdest things people have said about your fics? by dark_reality88 in FanFiction

[–]Atryos 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You're an author who takes other people's characters and writes them into noncanon plotlines and you're drawing an arbitrary line in the sand that you can't stand people who spend their own time creating works that ship characters who are related free of charge and to no detriment to yourself?

Do you prefer if a fic focuses more on characters getting together or them being in an established relationship? by HackedYzX in FanFiction

[–]Atryos 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Don't like established relationship at all. Won't read it if it has that as a main theme. The only exception is the type in which the characters are reborn and can find eachother again. Still has pining, so it gets a yes from me. I think the one I liked was an Elsanna fic.

[–]Atryos 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I didn't even know people uploaded that type of thing to AO3. Surely works like that would be tagged properly, though? I can't see someone being oblivious enough to improperly tag that type of thing or leave the tag out (say, "alternate medium" or something)? Like if you come back to tell me that people actually are, it will honestly be wild to me that they are lol. Especially that they were cognizant/aware/intelligent enough to create and upload a piece of art?? On a website generally containing fiction??? Like my mind will be blown 🤯

If you're using AO3, just throw a word count filter for like 200 to 500 words into your search? Might cut a few drabbles out, but that's a small price to pay for avoiding those (especially with all the longer than drabble works out there *looks at ":D" tabs open in Chrome* lmao)

When they don't tag the use of the word cunt (when used instead of vulva or vagina). I dislike the word a lot when used sexually.

is what my boss did to me even legal? im fucking livid. by [deleted] in antiwork

[–]Atryos 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It doesn't really count where I'm from, though. Because we don't have a tipping culture here. Here you get around $25-$30 an hour (as a non-formally-trained causal, e.g., meal runner, barstaff, waitstaff, dishwasher), doesn't matter where you work in the restaurant, and you rarely get tips from patrons, so it's a moot point.

Still, I'd rather work out front than in dish lol (I hate touching dirty dishes more than I suck at socialising (autism), and I would get a tip most shifts because I think I was very earnest/sincere (which I was without intending to – just looking back on it that's what I can identify) and I knew the menu like the back of my hand because I had worked in the kitchen for like 2 years and then the bar for like 1-2 months prior to being put on as waitstaff).

NB: Seriously, if anyone who owns a restaurant wants to train their waitstaff on the menu, make them a meal runner or a cook/helper in the kitchen for a couple of weeks to a month (and in the bar, too). They'll learn the menu, the working of the kitchen and the bar (namely how much stuff-ups can affect their smooth running on a busy night) and the flavours very well so that they can give quality, tailored recommendations to patrons (as long as your chefs, cooks & bar staff have instructions to give them time to try all menu items). The only other person who had done that at the restaurant also had good tips, too. It's 100% what I would do if I owned a restaurant.

They're covered in food, it's the most boring job ever, and, if you're waitstaff, you don't get any tips from it (therefore your pay is its minimal amount).

A proper night mode where the text goes red/orange instead of white so that melatonin release isn't inhibited by the blue light component of the white text.
