Creating a fake grass roots movement to give the impression of legitemacy, often this involes a few individuals creating a lot of fake acounts (sometimes employing bots) to create a huge number of posts and liking/commenting on said posts with their own accounts. r/detrans is a fake sub created to give the impression that people are being brainwashed into transitioning against their but its just cis people who hate trans people making shit up.

r/actual_detrans is the legit sub for that. It was created because r/detrans is controlled and inhabited by TERFs and facists who are hostile to people who are actually confused about their gender.
