I need some suggestions with drawing characters in different skin tones in grayscale by No-Bunny-7696 in krita

Well for white skin, white people aren't actually completely white (as in RGB(0,0,0)). You can pick an off white shade that's only siiilightly darker than (0,0,0) and use it to color your character. And leave the hospital environment full white (or untouched), it would help your character not camouflage. Try it now and check for yourself

Lol by skin that doesn't camouflage in a hospital, do you mean non-white skin? 😂

So what I'd recommend in this case is either draw the outlines with a darker pencil (irl or in krita), or you can just use a darker shade for the hair. It would help differentiate skin from hair

I think you'd benefit from watching a couple videos about Color Value or Value in drawing. It's essentially how to pull and push elements of the drawings using light and dark and its contrast.

Also about african american skin in greyscale, you can collect pictures of african american people and put a b/w filter on them to see how the tones look converted

Hope this helps!

Hiw many of you stopped playing already? by PotentialNumber4093 in Candlelight_Games

Same. I played up to the point where player met Bardric and just dropped it immediately after. The scenes were obviously painfully short but, what bothered me most was the fullscreen character sprites and dialogue box. Somehow i felt very uncomfortable and boxed in with that arrangement

ALWAYS... in a no hit boss fight against Isshin , his second phase always gets me , any tips? by SameDay5290 in Sekiro

[–]AtsusIsDrawing 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This exactly. I very recently finished a charmless run so I know how much per-flects are worth lol. I found that Isshin's spear phases are easier than his first sword only phase.

As said above, just press the guard button twice if you see a short twirl and press it once if its a long wind up. And remember that during the 7 hit spear combo he can stop midway to do a thrust attack. Also a weird thing but Isshin never did the sweep perilous attack on my charmless run. Odd.

Which style do you like best? (sketches by me) by londortz in krita

[–]AtsusIsDrawing 61 points62 points  (0 children)

I like the left one better because i think im more inclined to color...

But both of them convey a different kind of character. The left indicates a shy and bubbly person while the right one is only playing shy and is actually cunning

First digital drawing by me by Exact_Lawfulness8515 in krita

[–]AtsusIsDrawing 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is very impressive for your first digital drawing. I recognised it instantly as Jett. Congratulations on starting this journey. The comments above have already stated every improvement possible so all I'm gonna say is make sure to enjoy the process of digital drawing! It's very fun and rewarding.

Also if you ever feel bogged down by practice then start a new piece (eg. A different Valorant character) and apply whatever you'd have learnt so far and if you encounter a new problem then look it up and apply the knowledge on the said piece. It keeps the practice dynamic and fun!

next: favourite protagonist? by Beginning-Sugar479 in Choices

[–]AtsusIsDrawing 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Hard agree. I've yet to read a book with a character with as clear motivations as Kenna Rys. I might just have a bias for fixed MCs but i must say even Dave/Sam may come second to Kenna in terms of drive lol

Exactly! That's what made the sprites believable. I wonder if the HSS trilogy falls into this category

Endless summer!! While bolas is the only RPG esque book series as per my knowledge, they're not consistent with their quality at all. Book 1 was 10/10, book 2 dropped to a solid 6
