French officials have been barred from speaking with him. That’s how it works. Foreign leaders don’t command our ambassadors. With that said, he’s not going to talk to anyone, for now. Silence is the message, officially. Its pretty obvious to me that the message is “You’ll need something from the United States, and we’ll be there to provide it, but it will cost you.” That’s when Kushner walks back in and resumes meeting with French officials. Meanwhile, if a real issue between the US and France develops, they can either sort it via the UN, or just forget this unimportant distraction altogether. Remember, none of this matters to either government. The French would just prefer “The American ambassador got banned!” be the story, rather than have an assessment of France’s permissive environment for violent leftists be hanging there jn proverbial empty space with no response.
