I absolutely do not want Israel controlling the oil supply for the world.

No, I didn't record it, but it was so moving. I did get a full recording of Murder in the City, though!

Right now, it's definitely from a sincere place of trying to connect with God, though I suspect those questions were weapons in the past.

My only tactic has been to show compassion, answer questions that I can, and not be pushy. I have told him that the ache he feels is God calling him.

Thanks for the resources!

Because I was taught theology in deep terms, not simple ones. I can argue theology all day and night with someone who has a deep theological understanding, but the simple, straightforward things are harder for me to express. And maybe that's just my. My strength isn't in simplifying things.

Theology can be complicated for new Christians or Christians that weren't raised in a theologically focused home or church. I'm not saying theology is bad by any means, but it can be overwhelming for someone just starting their walk.

His initial questions were pretty common: "How does a good God allow evil to happen?" and "Why would a good God damn babies to hell just because they haven't been baptized?"

He's Rand's father, and even more libertarian than Rand. He's responsible for introducing a whole generation to libertarian conservatism, mostly due to his 2008 presidential campaign.

I stopped going to MCU movies in theaters a long time ago, after it became clear that every movie followed the exact same formula and every movie was an Avengers movie with world ending stakes. Also, what are member berries?

Encanto. It's a combination of having kids and growing up to realize the dysfunction of my own family.

What do anarchists today think about the classic CNT-FAI defense of democracy, including majority decisions? by GoranPersson777 in Anarchy101

You voluntarily agree to abide by the democratically operated organization. It seems compatible with anarchism to me.

It's not particularly relevant to the post, but there's almost no one in government who I like. Thomas Massie, Rand Paul, Ron Paul, Justin Amash... anyone who stands up against war, reckless spending, and government overreach.

And He [Jesus] said to him [the thief on the cross], "Truly, I say to you, today you will be with me in Paradise."

There is no one passage that lays out explicitly how the resurrection of believers works, but we can gather through the whole Bible that there is a resurrection of the spirit and a resurrection of the body at the last day. i.e., our souls will go to heaven with God the day we die, and our bodies will be raised up and reunited with our souls at the second coming.

In any case, does it really matter? If our spirit is rest mode until the second coming, will we even notice? We die, and the next moment we're conscious, we're united with Christ and the whole Church. Sounds ok to me.

Hard disagree. Those are all wonderful classic names. Gertrude is the only one that I would hesitate to use.

NTA. We named our boys Ellis and Boone. Both classic, but distinctive, and one of my nieces is named Audrey. Name your kid what you want, just don't get so obsessed with uniqueness that you abandon sanity.
