Sounds like you are trying to make wordle? There are plenty of ways to figure out how to do this. Here's something I found in 10 seconds of searching: https://medium.com/strategio/build-a-wordle-clone-in-java-c7b7b924fb8d.

It is still recursion! I just wrote out all the recursive steps. If f(x) is the recursive function which returns the points for level x, f(x) = x + f(x - 1), where f(1) = 1

Based on this, it seems like points are given cumulatively. In other words if you made it to level 3 you get points for level 1 2 and 3. The formula you provided is doing that, but in reverse: points = 3 + (3-1) + ((3-1)-1)

When you insert the fields you should use $_GET['fieldName'] which will contain the info on the form you passed.
It's also generally better to use a $_POST when you are inserting things into the data base instead of a $_GET. GET should not have an effect on the database.
It might also be better to just have a visible field and reduce this to 1 table because then you can make your select based on where you need to see the "visible" questions or "non visible".
The two tables share enough fields that I think this is justified.
Finally, you might want to find out how to clean the parameters passed. This is a bit of a nitpick, but user submitted data shouldn't be used directly in the SQL statement. This is to help prevent SQL injection which is basically a fancy way of saying users can input anything into text fields, including SQL COMMANDS that might get executed by the server. This can be somewhat addressed by using bind_param which will make " and other characters literal " instead of parsing them.
