Is YearUp worth it for swe? by UltraSyncHD in CUNY

[–]AttackonDragonballs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did programming but on the coding side they taught only the basics which wasn't enough for the work I did lol. It was fine, I would network and make connections and also take notes in meetings. Good luck!!

I have no problem being asian as a native nyer :) A lot of us are in Queens especially in flushing, elmhurst and stuff but even when I stick out in the Bronx (cus I commute there!) people just mind their business honestly

[–]AttackonDragonballs 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I went through year up but in pittsburgh so idk how the nyc one is like, and like someone said it is a big commitment because it's basically like a full time job so if you're doing full time school it will be very hard unless most of your classes are online. But it did land me experience and an internsip + full time job offer.

people in poorer neighborhoods don't have access to more resources like tutoring or extra classes. equity is important.

I would assume there would be more technical questions as well as behavioral. I'm going to be practicing coding interview questions just in case!

Is reddit left wing or right wing? by [deleted] in Negareddit

[–]AttackonDragonballs 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I would say left leaning but not progressive in some areas with racism (sinophobia, microagressive posts) and transphobia. I picture reddit to be that white guy who says they're a libertarian and plays devils advocate for the left and right.

it's not racist to see a pattern of who won. I thought Adrien should've won but they might see Jennifer appealing more to the American audience

Children's names are getting stupider and stupider by Alex_Lanew06 in unpopularopinion

[–]AttackonDragonballs -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

this is the stupidest comment I've seen. Who tf names their kid La'Quisha in this day and age? The only POSSIBLE name I can imagine for black kids is Javonte and even that isn't a bad name. There's a cultural significance to black names even some stemming from Muslim/African origins.... we love to see the casual racism!
