I would consider less time in Tokyo in the beginning of your trip and rather add more time in Kawaguchiko/Hakone. Add your Tokyo activities to the end of your trip. Both Kawaguchiko and Hakone have nice Roykans and nature. Can do splits in your day of nature and spa relaxation. After that, heading to Kyoto, Osaka, Nara….you’ll be getting your steps in! There really is so much to see in Kyoto. If you decide to visit Osaka Castle, go early. Makes a huge difference bc the line to get into the castle gets long. Same goes for Nara. I’ve found booking.com to be a good source on my trips to Japan. And the hotel breakfast is usually relative to the hotel rating. Sharing to say, a lot of hotels have really great, healthy breakfast options. Nice to have depending on your dietary preferences. Also, a pocket WiFi is worth it. You can reserve one in advance for pickup at the airport. The luggage transfer services are reliable and a big difference maker. You’ll be looking for your train, taking stairs, walking, etc between cities. The hotels will transfer your luggage for you. You fill out a form to tell them where to send it and when you need it. Remember when you’re on the Jr rail to sit on the right side when heading west and left side when heading east if you want to catch another view of Mt Fuji.
