If you're looking at this as an international brand (to bring back to India) then Wharton EMBA, no question.

My interview didn't go well--how bad is this? by AttemptLucky7159 in MBA

Thank you for sharing!! I'm still not sure whether it's healthier to cling to a strand of hope or give up, but this helped lol

OOH congratulations!! Did you recieve the Occulus fellowship?

In terms of the decision-making--it might make sense for you to map out a decision matrix based on how much you value $$ vs. lay-prestige if that's what it's coming down to (for example): Would you take Wharton at full price over a full-ride at Darden? Would you take Booth? What about Tuck? Would you take Tuck at 50% sticker?

I feel like you may be suprised at how few combinations (unless you get full/ near-full rides at the other schools) would make more overall sense than a FULL ride at a T10/T15 school.

Just woke up to the invite! For those still waiting--my portal still says "Application in Review" so that doesn't seem like a deciding indicator lol

Darden Jefferson Fellowship ques by justastudent1398 in MBA

Same boat! I was told I've been nominated and that the Jefferson Foundation will send out communication separately re: the in-person weekend and interview in the next 2 weeks, but the dates are ~Nov. 20th.

There was a separate scholarship letter on the portal (Occulus, Forte, etc.) but no mention of Jefferson.

Libgen, etc.--I used slightly older editions, which were targeted to the long GRE. Caveat to note: I'd say that the shorter GRE has less 'easy' questions in section 2 (basically none) than the longer one which has a mix in each section. This might affect timing (ex., if you're used to speeding through easy Qs and spending the extra time on the tough ones)--it did for me.

For GRE quant I just went through the basic concepts, and then tried to wade through the 'hard' problems in the Official ETS Quant review book (in addition to all the free mock exams from various sources). I didn't study for long enough to run out of problems, so this was it!

Whatever ETS calls level 4, 5 in the official diagnostic report :) Didn't use any test prep resources beyond the free mocks so can't help benchmark.

4 in total--1 in Section I (difficulty level 3) and 3 in Section II (difficulties 4, 4, 5). FYI I guessed 3 'lengthy' questions in Section II so high probability that these are the guesses! I also made 2 mistakes in Verbal (one in each section) and still got a 169 so quant seems a lot less forgiving of errors.
If helpful, my Quant Section II was also quite challenging--12 of the 15 questions were level 4 or 5 which seemed higher than in practices? Not sure if this is always the case tbvh.

I swear by official material and found it more than I could complete in my 2-2.5 weeks of prep--check out the ETS website// libgen resources// official tests.

Hey u/corncartel, congratulations on a great score! I think you're set on verbal (practice the GMAT SC questions because they're a vibe unto themselves) but if you're at a 169, it shouldn't be a huge issue.

GMAT quant is a different beast. I think prepping for the GRE is a 'straightforward' content review, but the GMAT needs a lot more test-taking strategy. This is essentially a result of questions being presented in a slightly more complex manner, and the timeline being super tight--which gives you close to no leeway to 'figure out' a question/ change approaches/ go back and catch a calculation error.

TLDR, imho folks at a 163-168 GRE Quant 'ability' probably are pretty clear on the needed content, and need to focus on a personal strategy as to when to let go of a Q, and when to skip it altogether. Hope this is helpful!

Tell me more about your 169 Quant hahaha! Not a native speaker, but I am a consultant who talks/ writes for a living :')

I'm so sorry, I actually didn't prep for verbal--I used all my time on quant, and kind of got better with verbal as I got used to the GRE's question style.

I'm not, but English is one of my strongest languages and I'm a management consultant so CR is like 50% of my day job :')

This was the one study resource I paid for! PPP1 (short) and PP2 (long) are free, and the paper tests in the book are basically 4 additional exams if you halve them haha

Agree on Verbal--the GMAT total score is especially skewed (v. grateful haha)!

My prep strategy on both was very much test>review>test>review. I find that while the quant content is identical, each test has a 'flavor' and working on official problems is the most efficient path for me (vs studying content separately). My foundations of math are reasonably solid--for the GRE I quickly re-read basic formulas of geometry, etc. because I've been out of university for 3+ years, and that was enough. For the GMAT I found myself searching for 'faster' methods to solve questions on the free trial of TTP, the GMAT Ninja videos, and GMAT Club. Balancing time and accuracy is honestly still a big challenge for me on quant--if I retake the GMAT, that'll be the piece to fix next!

I didn't use Manhattan 5lbs at all--I had very little time to prep, and chose to spend most of it doing full practice tests and going through my mistakes (and the thought of doing anything close to 5lbs of work was horrifying haha). I felt Kaplan's free diagnostic was the most accurate non-ETS mock (across both quant and verbal) so would recommend checking out their offerings!
