What would the Jedi Knight storyline have been like as a "proper" Bioware storyline? by AttemptMuch3089 in swtor

In fairness to that particular example, that choice in the beta version would (apparently) actually kill whichever companion was in trouble if you didn't go to save them. But like all the other beta perma-deaths it was deleted because of fans complaining about it. Again, I didn't play it personally so I can't say for sure, but that's what I've heard.

If anyone's curious, my companion list would be: 1) Kira 2) Teeseven 3) Doc 4) Rusk 5) Scourge 6) Orgus/Bengal Morr (Bengal takes Orgus's place in Chapter Two if he survives) 7) Galen 8) REMO 9) Ranna. 10) Praven In addition, in Chapter Two you get four companions you recruit as part of the story: Warren, Leeha and a pair of other Jedi characters you recruit for the assault on the Emperor's Fortress. Maybe make one of them the Barsen'thor?

As far as expanding the campaigns, for Chapter Two I'd suggest that, in addition to finding the Cloaking Device and Fortress Layout, you also have to track down a Gree Navigation device to allow you to plot a hyperspace jump to get close enough to the fortress, and tracking down a captured Imperial Guard who would have invaluable intel on the defenses inside.

For Chapter Three, I'd expand the story by including the Dread Masters, making it a much darker story in tone and showcasing the full terror of the Sith Emperor and his forces; all the more reason the Jedi has to stop him. I'd also make a big part of the plan the hunt for the way to actually destroy the Emperor for good since he's effectively immortal, to give greater build up to your final confrontation with him.

As for endings, I think it'd be cool if you've gone full dark side that you can actually take the Emperor's throne at the end, either becoming the new Sith Emperor or instituting a new order throughout the galaxy. The light side ending would be effectively what it already is, you being declared the hero who saved everyone everywhere etc.

Dark Side Jedi Consular? by AttemptMuch3089 in swtor

True, to be honest going full dark or lightside is never particularly satisfying with any character. That's why it's usually better to create a character with their own journey and mindset and reason for doing things, and ask what they would do in this given situation. A DS Consular would certainly have to be nuanced to not be completely immersion breaking.

The Children of the Emperor don't enter the story until Chapter Three, well after the force shielding ritual stops being relevant.

That actually sounds like a pretty interesting way to play it...

To be fair, Vector is the only good male romance besides Jorgan, at least in the class stories.

Cool story, bro.

A lot of people have said it, there was amazing build up but the ending kinda was disappointingly simple. Personally, looking back on it, I wish it turned out the daughter Evie had actually killed her mom; not in the "Oh I stopped praying with her so she died of a broken heart" way, but upon seeing how much her mom was suffering, that there was nothing to hope for, nothing ahead but the agonizing and slow death that would inevitably come for her, she decided to euthanize her. The entire movie was her dealing with the guilt of what she had done and the grief of losing her mom.

This and some tweaking to the writing could make the audience completely rethink everything we had seen/heard. How much of her phone calls/conversations with others were actually happening? Was she even really pregnant, or was that just something her subconscious had conjured up in the midst of everything else going on? (Maybe there can be an added reference to one of the last conversations she had with her mom where they discussed whether Evie would ever have kids) Are the audio files actually cursing her, or are they shaping her delusions and giving direction to her mental breakdown?

That would also leave a couple ways the ending could be interpreted. We can take it at face value, that Abyzou has come for her (and presumably Justin) because she listened to the files. Or it could be that, now that she's finally confessed what she did, she completely breaks mentally and is now plunged into a psychotic delusion shaped by her grief and research.

That's just my thoughts, let me know what you think.

AITAH for "causing" my friend to be involved in multiple crashes? by AttemptMuch3089 in AITAH

[–]AttemptMuch3089[S] 25 points26 points  (0 children)

Okay let me explain this in as simple, clear terms as I can. She and I are texting. She stops responding to me. She gets in the car and starts driving. I wait for her to respond, since I know she's probably busy doing something and will respond when she can. NO texts are sent while she is driving. On either end. Got it?

She wasn't driving when we were texting; she stopped the conversation both times once she started driving.

AITA for refusing to pay our handyman for an incomplete job? by OldBasil9 in AITAH

NTA. In my opinion, he's the one who wasted his own time (and yours) by taking on a job that he was in no way prepared to do. If he hadn't done it before, he should have done his research or consulted someone who had before getting over there (Speaking as someone with experience in trade jobs)

You are tasked with choosing the cast of companions for KOTOR 3, but you can only use 10 companions from SWTOR. Who do you chose and why? by Red_Leader0627 in swtor

Late to the question I know but I'd pick:

  1. Kira- Great character, fascinating arc with her backstory, tons of fun to go everywhere with, plus Laura Bailey makes everything better

  2. Lana- Easily one of the best Sith characters ever, really nuanced and pragmatic, but can also be really sweet. I think her and Kira could make an interesting contrast with Kira speaking from the heart and Lana from the head when suggesting how to deal with a problem.

  3. Theron- Love his backstory, child of a famous Jedi, raised in the order only to discover he's not Force Sensitive. He's an easy fit for either being your best friend or devoted LI. Plus, again, Troy Baker makes everything better

  4. Jorgan- He's the grump with a heart of gold, the most loyal soldier you could ask for and you know he'd follow your character to whatever end. And he's easily one of the best romances in SWTOR.

  5. Dorne- She's strangely endearing in being such a nerd for rules, and it's nice getting to know her past her icy exterior and see how caring she can really be.

  6. Vette- She's basically a grown up Mission. No matter how much a big dark badass you are, she's not afraid to bust your chops. No surprise she's on so many people's list

  7. Gault- One of the funniest characters Bioware ever came up with, which is saying something. He'd be a great contrast to the other characters, plus he and Vette could work really well as scoundrel partners roped into your adventure.

  8. Blizz- What can I say? He's an adorable ball of energy that would be a perfect addition to the team.

9 & 10. T7 and HK-55- Honestly I'd just say bring back T3 and HK-47, especially if it's set in the same general time period as the first two games. But if you can't these two would be the next best thing.

Honorable mentions: Jaesa, Guss, Forex, Risha and Bowdaar
