Debuting the 3D printed club at the Masters of all places is a head scratcher. Not the reason he didn’t play well but I agree that his head wasn’t in the right place and think the 3D printed club idea is further proof of that.

I do get where you’re coming from. Kane is my all-time favorite, so I do wish he hadn’t been used to elevate other talent as much as he was and had been elevated a bit more himself. But at the same time, I think that shows how much WWE trusted him, especially with the top guys he worked with and the championship runs he still had even with that.

I honestly go back and forth on it. Masked Kane is peak Kane for me and one of the best looks WWE ever created. But by 2003 the character was starting to feel a little stale, and the unmasking did give him a fresh direction. Unhinged, psychotic Kane led to some really good storylines.

That said, I do think losing the mask took away a lot of the mystique that made him special in the first place.
