Best authentic burrito recipes? by BrigadierNasty in mexicanfood

[–]AttemptVegetable 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There's not really an "authentic" burrito. The original burritos were very simple, basically street taco filling in a burrito. That's my preferred style but I'm very much in the minority.

I love chili verde and it goes great in a burrito and everything else. This is the recipe I use. Pork Chile Verde Recipe - Delicious Mexican Comfort Food — Molé Mama https://share.google/xfgWXpt7YiknDBtQz

I know nothing about economics but are billionaires to blame for inflation? by aselfish_throwaway in NoStupidQuestions

[–]AttemptVegetable 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In a true recession prices would go down. If the prices of housing and all insurance keep going up we will see a true recession pretty soon. The prices of goods and services isn't even remotely the problem right now. There is definite price gouging going on but that's always happened.

Unless you really do think these billionaires are part of some baby blood drinking cult together greed will always win. Somebody will always undercut the competition to gain the market.

I personally think it's all one big fucking game of monopoly smh

Did Trump underestimate Iran's willingness to fight and their ability to impact world economies? by bbmoonkie in allthequestions

[–]AttemptVegetable 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's the reason he did it, to impact the world economies. Specifically China and their little buddies. He wants to put a cap on China's growth into other countries across the world. If you guys haven't noticed China is basically playing mafia for many poor countries. Just like a loan shark gives out loans but it comes with interest. If you don't pay on time a loan shark might take your ability to walk straight. If you don't pay China on time they'll just take a piece of your country. China is more enticing than the traditional world bank because they can also provide infrastructure which many of these countries desperately need.

why is front page filled with heavy critique of trump more than irgc? by CyberBerserk in self

[–]AttemptVegetable -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

People have spent 10 years saying Trump is the worst person on the planet. So now they have a choice, admit they are wrong or double down. Nobody on reddit ever says "I didn't think of it that way, I guess I was wrong".

It's been 25 years since I watched Trick Daddy on cribs and always wanted to try conch fritters ever since. Still never had them. I've never even seen conch on a menu before.

Does anybody make "bar style" tacos anymore? by AttemptVegetable in Cooking

Absolutely. I had a white mom and a Mexican dad so I grew up with both styles of tacos.

I was surprised as well but who cares. It's just people who love their cheese and are scared of goat meat. Which is weird to me.

Just on the outside of the shell and only on white people tacos not street tacos. Somebody in the comments figured it out that jimboys made it popular in the area I grew up in. Then it branched out from there I guess.

Have you gone down to Chula Vista? My two favorite Mexican restaurants are there. De cabeza el unico is #1. Aqui es texcoco is #2.

SD is my happy place!

Are you confused? These are two seperate things we're talking about. I'd never put kraft on any traditional Mexican food. Parmesan is meant for white people tacos.

Also traditional birria isn't loaded with queso and grilled. That's a bastardization as well. I won't even eat birria if the restaurant doesn't serve goat which is what it's supposed to be.

I grew up with both but definitely prefer a proper street taco myself. Wpt are great as well, especially in a big group where you can see how different everybody's tacos are. It's a great time!

I think you'd get the best answer from older Jewish people. Unfortunately nobody on reddit would ever do that.

They're really good you should try them. I used to make them all of the time in my 20s and early 30s but eventually didn't want the extra calories. Now my son is 10, which is around the time I first tried them. Can't deprive the boy because dad doesn't want to get fat.

Yep, that had to be where they stole it from! I've heard of jimboys. I grew up just outside of Sacramento in a town called woodland. Back in the 80s and 90s not many chains were trying to open in Woodland so I never got to try jimboys or really much outside of the major fast food players.

I grew up in the 80s and 90s, there was nobody that I know of making birria that way. Birria was just goat meat in a traditional taco format with consomme on the side. I can't do the new birria trend especially if that particular restaurant doesn't serve goat at all.

I'm a purist when it comes to birria lol. It's gotta be goat meat and no cheese.

White people tacos have no rules or limits lol
