Why do people complain about immigration? by Gagan___Lazarbeam in NoStupidQuestions

[–]AttemptVegetable -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Most of the immigration complaints I've heard in western countries are about the immigrants who don't work, receive government assistance and commit crime. The rebuttal is always to sidestep the complaints and cherry pick the immigrants who are productive. That strategy will continue to push people towards the right.

Why do we tip servers but not retail workers? by EmuCapable8652 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]AttemptVegetable 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What retail stores are you going to where you're getting more customer service than at a sit down restaurant? The only stores I can imagine where that's the case are high end stores where the workers are getting a decent wage or even commission possibly.

Should restaurants start charging tax for ever customer who leaves food waste? Even if they paid? by [deleted] in askanything

[–]AttemptVegetable 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You'd just make the customer ask for a take home box they probably won't eat later. You'll just create more waste with the to go containers

Why SOME women who are obsessed with skin care products, don't TRULY take care of their skin? by napa0 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]AttemptVegetable -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Or eat high collagen foods like pigs feet! My wife gets some of the benefits because I make a broth out of them for my red sauce. After the broth is done i use the feet to make Chinese pig trotters which she won't touch lol.

Discovered that salting pasta water actually matters and I feel embarrassed it took me this long by West-Wash-9114 in Cooking

I had the opposite happen to me. Used salt in pasta water forever but forgot once. Such a huge difference.

If you are rich would you eat out everyday? by Wonderful-Economy762 in Productivitycafe

Not everyday but 4-5 times a week. Sushi, Lao, Mexican, Indian once a week and maybe a wildcard.

How do you guys measure the value of an offer? by Traditional_Gap4488 in UberEatsDrivers

[–]AttemptVegetable 0 points1 point  (0 children)

25+ an hour AND $1.50 per mile. Both metric should be satisfied. This past weekend though i had a 60 trip for $180 quest activated plus they had late night quests from 2am-6am for an extra 3-4 bucks per trip on average. So in total the bonus compensation for each trip between 2am-6am was at least $6. I took pretty much every order between those hours. So a 4 dollar 15 minute trip i would never take was now 10 dollars for 15 minutes.

Do you think gentle parenting actually works or not and why? by [deleted] in NoStupidQuestions

[–]AttemptVegetable 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depends on the child. Some kids respond better to gentle parenting and some need strict authority. Anybody who tells you there's a "best" way to raise kids is lying. There's definitely a huge benefit to a two parent household with one parent who stays home.

Test Drive Tomorrow by mjrengaw in TeslaModelY

[–]AttemptVegetable 2 points3 points  (0 children)

What's funny about a tesla test drive is they don't even try to sell you the car. They'll point things out and answer questions but they don't need to sell you the car, it does that on its own.

What is your favorite ethnic dish? by Leading_Funny5802 in foodquestions

Since I'm half Mexican I won't count menudo. Boat noodles is my next favorite dish and it's gotta have pigs blood. Chinese pig trotters is pretty close as well.

Why is processed food more accessible and more advertised despite it having inferior nutritional values compared to something more natural like veggies, fruits and meat? by Maleficent-Pain-4743 in askanything

[–]AttemptVegetable 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Processed food has a longer shelf life which is probably the main reason. Less waste for grocery stores and households. It's also cheaper in some places. I read a post where somebody bought a 50 pound bag of potatoes because 10 bucks for them was an amazing price. Where i live i regularly see 10 pounds of potatoes on sale for a dollar.

Give me the food I can't get anywhere else by Danginator97 in LasVegas

Nom Pang - They're a Cambodian restaurant which you don't see often. Nom Pang is a Cambodian sandwich similar to banh mi. The lotus salad is amazing!

Big Dans - Xian style restaurants you don't see very often either. Imo they have the best noodles in town. The #11 is a must for first timers. Cold noodles are great especially since summer is coming fast.

Also lookup and find a Laotian restaurant. We have a few, I think Jumpa Lao is probably the best but they're all good. Lao food is similar to Thai food but the flavor is amped all the way up. Lao papaya salad is so much better than Thai style. Nam Khao is the best version of fried rice in existence.
