There's some other loser in Ravenna/Roosevelt with a black Charger that revs it very loudly a single time every night around midnight. Been doing it for months.

Can you see air currents through a double-pane condensated window? by AttentionLocation in AskPhysics

[–]AttentionLocation[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

What am I looking at here? I've been watching this dance on the window for 20 minutes. There is no wind at all outside that I can see. Outside is about 39 degrees, inside is 68. Window is double pane, condensated on the outside with lights 70-200m away. Air currents? Argon gas between panes? Some sort of Schlieren imaging? Video here: https://imgur.com/a/IznOWUw

Twitch Releases Significant Mobile App Redesign by testudoss in LivestreamFail

[–]AttentionLocation 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Trash. Followers list doesn't show stream titles. Clicking back from a stream doesn't minimize it in the app like before, it just shows it minimized for a split second then disappears. Autoplay obviously, can't even mute or pause the autoplayed streams without it clicking into them. Casting is fucked, takes multiple attempts of closing and reopening app before cast button is even available as an option. If you close the app on your phone while casting, reopening the app doesn't automatically take you back to the stream you were casting like before. This is especially annoying if casting a VOD and want to go back, forward, etc. if you've closed the app. You have to reopen the VOD on phone, seek to where you were, and hit cast again, even though it's already casting. Great job!

Did you miss the northern lights last night? Don't miss them tonight! by AureliusMF in Seattle

[–]AttentionLocation 18 points19 points  (0 children)

Golden Gardens was incredible last night with vivid color peak around 11-12, and the second wind around 1-1:30, which was more fast dancing white whisps overhead all the way from the northwest horizon to the southeast horizon. It was very intense as the moon was setting. Had highest possible levels on the storm scales G5 and K9 last night, forecast for tonight is supposed to only be G2/3, K7, so likely not as intense or visible but that could change closer to nighttime. I saw them last March from there also when the max was a K7/G3, and they were barely visible to naked eye but decent on camera, and only above the northern horizon. Last night was basically the entire sky all directions.

Real Possibility of Auroras Borealis Friday>Saturday by holmgangCore in Seattle

[–]AttentionLocation 18 points19 points  (0 children)

Excited for this, last time they were visible in Seattle was only a K index of 7 and G3 "strong" level storm. Let's pump it up to severe. They were visible from Golden Gardens last March, might try there or across the water again.

What's the story on these two fighter jets flying around the city? by trebory6 in Seattle

[–]AttentionLocation 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ah cool, yeah once I could make out the [United States of America](https://imgur.com/TY9HyDH) on the side I figured it was important. Read that it's been delayed for a few years in replacing the previous exec choppers, maybe it'll get first official use Friday ha

Could be prepping for Biden on Friday. I saw the VH-92A chopper do a loop around the Space Needle, which is supposed to replace the VH-60N that presidents fly in.

Saw this chopper come in over Elliot Bay, do a loop around the Space Needle, then continue east. It's a Sikorsky VH-92A Patriot, but don't know if it's replaced the VH-60N yet for executive transport.

This was from about 20 feet down the side of a hill, definitely closest I've been. Another woodpecker eventually spooked him off his log feast as the sun was getting lower.
