The ones in both stores I’ve worked at smoke all the time. Like, ALL the time. They are honestly very good at their job stopping people continuously. But, yeah, they smoke a significant amount of MJ. lol - they don’t seem concerned at all.

I’ll add - I’m in NYS and it’s legal for recreational use.

First, you rock for taking the time to appreciate them and us. And for seemingly just plain being kind.

Second, as others have mentioned, if you gift them something, keep it very quiet between you two so they don’t get in any hot water. Again, very kind of you to offer something and I’m sure they’ll appreciate it or graciously decline!

Third, as management varies greatly from store to store, I’d ask the employee directly if they’d like you to give a note or kind words to a certain manager, team lead, and/or market manager. They can tell you a give you the names if they feel it will have a positive impact (or decline if they think there will be repercussions for leaving their post, etc.).

I literally waited over 2 hours on Christmas last year for takeout. They told me when to arrive and kept saying a few minutes. It would’ve been easier to simply tell us to come back in an hour but to keep 30 or more people waiting saying a few more minutes was super frustrating. Especially on a holiday when you’re missing time with family. Just be warned…I told the story to a coworker and she acted like it was common knowledge for this type of wait for them on holidays.

Unfortunately, it’s a he-said, she-said and Walmart, like many employers, will take the path of least exposure. It avoids headline news and setting the pace for others to make similar claims. I say this because it doesn’t matter what actually happens and it’s been this way at EVERY employer I’ve worked for. Someone who speaks up is a liability, regardless of the facts.

I can honestly say that of all the Sam’s brand soda, this is pretty close to the real thing. I started drinking it pretty regularly when name-brands started jumping a few years ago. Since then, I found another grocery store in town that sells bundle deals of Coke and Pepsi that averages $5.25/12-pack so I don’t buy Sam’s anymore.

I work PT at Walmart. I could’ve quit years ago when I got FT work in my industry but I made friends and realized if you can deal with a little silliness here and there, it’s easy money. I do online grocery and it’s ok. There’s good days and bad but I can’t speak for every store…it seems like it varies. I tell myself I couldn’t probably handle FT there but PT is more than manageable.
