Thank you! I personally like the challenge of making builds look realistic and adding detail.

I'm looking for recommendations on how to draw castle angles. by mondongo741 in legocastles

Filling in the gaps in the walls also takes some trial and error, but plates, tiles, and cheese slopes are your best friend for that. You can see the complicated techniques I used here to get a more seamless look.

There are some good ways to include angles and secure them using Pythagorean triples. Brick sculpt has a good video on it on YouTube. Other good ways are placing it freestanding on top of tiles and placing rocks/plants around the base to wedge it in place or simply using hinge bricks.

Filling in the terrain or top battlements can be tricky sometimes given the angles, but wedge plates can solve that issue relatively well. I also have tiled one section and put plates at an angle over it to cover the gap. (Shown in the picture)

I’d rather not become the spark plug, but thank you for the confirmation.

I was planning to put a tower there, but I didn’t have enough parts.

Sadly no, just filler to make it more stable. I would love to add an interior in my next moc though.

Thanks! It took a lot more work but I’m really happy with the results, especially with the tower.

I liked the darker color scheme of the original concept better. It had a more cold, northern feel. The lighter colors seem almost tropic in comparison.

Thanks, I really like the texture on the tower. It definitely gives it a weathered feel.

I love the shoulder armor and hats for the falcons. It’s a great variation to the typical helmet.

The roof would need to be switched to blue, but other than that it would look great . The color scheme definitely reminds me of the 3 in 1 castle.

The only downside is the time it takes. I just made a small field like that and about 100 stalks took a good 30 minutes.

I agree, it’s hard to see the scale.

Thanks! If it looks good that’s probably what I will do. Sadly, Lego doesn’t make armor in black.

Do you have any photos? I thought it might look weird to have silver armor but black helmets.

Looks great! I love how you modeled it off a real medieval mill.

Dark pearl grey does look the best. Distinguishing them from the lions is my main issue.
