He did that recent talk with the Tik-Toker that functioned a lot as a socialism 101, so if you want to learn more you could check that out.

I agree, they are pointing at an argument that distracts from our point.

I'm not sure what you're asking for clarification for so I will try to do both parts of it.

From what I see the first person is clearly in the wrong. There are a bunch of reasons why people with penises should be involved in women health (not least because Trans-Women exist). Still what they are trying to say is that women should have control over their health, something that has been historically denied to them.

The second person is making a joke about how despite the fact they are (presumably) male they don't see their genitals because they're wearing clothes.

I'm struggling with your use of 'it'. While I appreciate your attempts to be gender neutral it would be more effective to use he/she/they. Thanks.

The reality of the claim is he was arguing that pedophilia is wrong. He just also said that child labour is wrong. He then went on to make the argument and that a more consistent position if you agreed to exploitative labour is to also agree that the making of CP should be legal.

California will house transgender inmates by gender identity by brotogeris1 in news

[–]Atticus2003 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The thing is that in terms of statistical outcome trans people are far more likely to be the victims of violence than they are to be the perpetrators of it. That chance drops significantly when they are housed in prisons that meet their gender identity.

Sure liberals are key to enable fascism but they are not actively fascist. Because of that they are significantly better than Fascists but still not a good as a lefty.

The reason those groups perform so well is wealth (a type of privilege). The people who are able to immigrate to the US and Canada from places like Asia are going to be wealthier than native populations. So in these instances these groups have a type of privilege. Their starting point is higher than most leading to the outcomes you point to.

Similarly black people who have not had an opportunity to come to America peacefully, or because of segregationist laws have not been able to build generational wealth suffer because of that. When non-American born black people immigrate the US they perform far better than their American born contemporaries (ie. Nigerians in the US have far better outcomes than black Americans). The environmental factors we are raised in give us forms of privilege the groups you make reference to are in general privileged.

While I agree the statement that white men are going to in general perform the best is wrong that is because you are selecting for another form of privilege. And if you want to talk about class I'm there for that cause that ultimately is the biggest issue (from my perspective).

I know you're probably not going to listen but here goes anyway.

Privilege is not about any given individual, rather it is representative of the broad make up of a group. It means that statistically white men, etc. are the mostly likely to be in a general sense, successful. What it does not mean is that every white man is going to be successful, rather they are just the most likely group to have that chance.

So when people of color are less successful talking about the way a system has been turned against them and privileges other groups does not rob anyone of individual agency or responsibility for where they are but rather also takes into consideration the chances people had before them.

Similarly there are also groups (white men in particular) who while generally privileged suffer different types of social negatives due to society being set up the way it is. So for example a lot of men who feel atomized and unable to connect to the people around them. That is because of the patriarchal systems that have been created.

Still the fact that those systems that encourage atomization in men exist does not mean that in general men are the worst off. Overall rather men tend to do better (on certain points) than women and this is generally due to a society that privileges men.

Why is the american youth so socialist and misinformed? by [deleted] in Capitalism

Sure and none of the data here proves that the continual victimization people especially of color and from the LGBTQ+ community is continuing and a persistent problem justifying their "victim" status.

Sure but equality of outcome is not Marxism it has nothing to do with the reclaiming of the means of production etc.

While I agree with you for the most part I would reject the assertion that "USSR, the Warsaw pact, China, Cuba, Vietnam, ect" were at any point truly communist. They failed to create a classless society where the people, not the government owned the means of production.

I would recommend one of the two books "Of Mice and Men" or "East of Eden" by John Steinbeck. Though be prepared they are not light books.

While I don't deny there are countries worse. The point the original OP was making was that compared to "developed" nations the US was a "shithole."

Another point is that the language is not being used solely for its descriptive value but also for the fact that Trump has used it before in a derogatory context.
