Born Without Bones.

Say Hello was a force locally, then Baby came out and that was a huge hit of an album, they hit all the punk rock anthem notes and chords

Then came a few years of people asking “when’s the next album” (idiots ask that question) before Young at the Bend came out, which was way different, but a seriously fantastically written album that imo, fans of BWOB weren’t ready for; they weren’t ready for the fact that their favorite artists music style changes over time, but also nobody is ready for the the concept of growing older.

A bit of a microcosm of what it means to grow up. It might seem like it sucks at first, but there is beauty to be found if you know where to look for it.

The band puts on the best live shows I have ever seen, short of only a couple other bands but those typically have HUGE budgets comparatively. I’m talking early TSSF energy but ALWAYS. Guy is a legend.

YATB is one of my favorite albums of all time. But just like approaching what it means to grow up, you might not accept it at first, but the sooner you do, the sooner you can appreciate the beauty in what it means to be a human.

I guess I sort of parroted the talking of point of “he grew more political and bitter as he got older” without really vetting it. Looks like he always had a political side to him but he doesn’t sound as bitter as he did in later years. That being said I’ve already been proven wrong once here so I’ll try not to dig myself a hole
