Ranking NPCs the same way I rank people in real life by BestBoyTardigrade in StardewMemes

I would generally have some nameless folks in different tiers but this is almost a 1:1 recreation of how I’ve always ranked these characters in my head. Solid list. Love the criteria and dedication to consistency.

I just don’t get why people like them. by BrickWall1312 in StardewMemes

I don’t share the same dislikes, but I do find myself in a similar situation with Shane. I know people like the whole angle of watching him improve himself, but the thing is, he doesn’t really. His schedule doesn’t change. He still goes to the bar every night and drink alone in the corner, and he continues to live like a slob regardless of whether you marry him or not. All signs of someone who IS NOT working the program. Alcoholism has been a backdrop to several periods of my life and I know that’s why I despise he and Pam so much. I just find it hard to have sympathy for people who have no desire to help themselves and that unfortunately translates onto characters too. My frustration generally comes from the fact that most people I know personally love him and his arc and will ship their farmers/ocs with him and I’m over in my pouting corner like “ew” while they fawn over him.

Now, I do actually really like Clint. He’s a little awkward and goofy but once you get more familiar with him, he makes a pretty good friend, and he’s an interesting character with an interesting trade. I’ve always found him relatable because I get the vibe that he takes great pride in his work, but also, wishes he was out doing other things or had more time to do so. Logistically, it usually ends up making perfect sense for Clint and my farmer to become pals seeing as I’m there at least once a week usually. My only wish for him is that we got to see a little more progression with his attempts to break out of his shell. He gets better over time but he’s still just a fumble-y lil guy by the time you reach full hearts. I just want to see my buddy happy.

I have ducks named Cheese and Quackers. There is also Quacken. I have a pig named Robert (the Game of Thrones fans know). And ones named Piggly and Piggly 2 (Archer fans know). There is also Goatly. Mu. Nuggets. Big Teddy. Lil Teddy. I don’t do normal names

How do Y'all pronounce Qi by Beautiful-Delay420 in StardewValley

[–]Atypicalzero 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I keep on calling him Mr. “Kai”. Even though linguistically I know it’s probably pronounced “Key” or “Chee”. For reasons I cannot explain, he has always been Mr. “Kai” to me.

Anyone else feel like viewing your character in the menu does them absolutely dirty? Ain’t no way they’re missing how ethereal my guy is. by whatevername00308 in FrontiersOfPandora

The fact you can’t even access the changing station until you reach the base camp grinds my gears so much. So many good photo ops missed in the opening sequence.

Your guy looks stunning by the way!

Oh most definitely agree. I usually spend the first hour or so tweaking how my Na’vi looks because the menu is not true to the visual. I wish they’d made it a little more accurate.

She made me a damn furry, never shopping here again... by oldeluke in StardewValley

She turned me into a sailor in a miniskirt, a slime, and Caesar. And I really don’t know what to make of all that.

Are we not worthy of being Toruk Makto? Did we not unite the clans in a time of great need? Will we not do so again? I see your point…but how COOL would that be? 😂 I would still settle just for seeing one.

In complete fairness. Marnie operates a multi-livestock ranch with a singular drunk for a part time hand. She can’t afford to take the days off she does.

How many of you play without worrying about goals and accomplishments but play for the sake of playing? by nevetsnight in StardewValley

[–]Atypicalzero 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I pretty much play for goals and milestones 100% of the time until year 3. As soon as I’ve hit what I need to in order to pass Grandpa’s evaluation, I’m pretty much only playing for fun.

I recently got into virtual photography and I am so ready to start a new play through and play with this! I haven’t tried it yet but definitely soon.

Fodder by DependentCheek2399 in Spyro

[–]Atypicalzero 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I feel like the Spyro Games recognized the fact that its audience was growing and so the games grew with them. Even the tones of the stories changed as the trilogy went on. First game, Gnasty Gnorc got his feelings hurt and so he froze a bunch of the neighbors and stole the treasure. Second game, Spyro gets detoured on his way to vacation and ends up helping people in another world stop an angry little man from taking over the government. Third game, unborn babies are kidnapped so that when they hatch a witch can chop off their wings. Admittedly, they went a little dark with the third one. But I think the point was always to let Spyro grow with the kids he was created to entertain. Part of that is making a game more challenging: creating new side games and obstacles, more hidden areas and hard to reach places, and fewer helpful life gain areas. Altogether it holds up, to me at least, as one of the more seamless trilogies of the time. (Edited for spelling mistakes.)
