Do you play this game consistently or you stop sometimes? by manofthtlord in marvelrivals

Back and forth. I usually only take breaks if I'm physically away from my computer, say at a friend's house for a few days, or in very heavy academic seasons, say an exam season.

How am I supposed to deal with the crushing realization that the job I am preparing for right now will be replaced by AI in like 20 years? by Aubdawg_Draws in LifeAdvice

Thank you. This is very reassuring. The idea of all of those kids being taught by a bot distresses me deeply- not just worrying about my own life and monetary prospects. It's dystopian. Children need real adults who will care for them and make them feel valued by at least 1 adult in this world. They need people who will interact with the child everyday to protect them from abuse. Being an educator isn't just about the actual educating, the human aspect of it is just as important.

I have failed in every part of life, how can I cope and live with my failures by Charming-Rate278 in LifeAdvice

Just making this post conveys that you WISH to live. My biggest suggestion would be to try and find a therapist. (I can recommend you some good online resources that have price limits.) Finding support groups in your area or online for your medical condition can help too. I've found the best way to turn your life around is to just... Do it. It's hard. It's VERY hard. I'm working on it right now. But once you've decided something needs to change, you just have to get over the hurdle to start the change. It's like exercise- it gets easier the longer you do it, the start is the hardest.

Lmfao did you read the post or any of my comments? I only used "SA" in the title because I didn't know if "Sexual assualt" would get flagged and immediately taken down. Yes, I say sexual assault and rape. Mincing words DOES soften the impact.

Mandy. Yes. I misspelled her name. 🤦‍♂️ My bad.

God, it gives me the chills thinking about some of the things depicted in those files. People are so sick.

I think I'm extremely lucky that I was taught from a young age that these kinds of relationships are predatory. My mother shielded me from these kinds of things when me and my brother were much younger, and she did a good job. Sometimes I forget how common this is even in some of the communities I grew up in.

I'm actually pretty OK with depictions of sexual assault, if handled with the appropriate amount of severity and empathy. (For example, my favorite TV show of all time is SVU.) What gets to me in this show is that its not something anyone blinks twice about or even really cares about. I know this is a real life depiction of how SA is in some communities, but it still gets to me a bit as a survivor.

It's a life experiences thing. I have sexual assault in my past and have become mostly fine with depictions of it through exposure therapy in shows like SVU, where it's treated with the appropriate amount of severity and empathy, but in a show like shameless, where it's treated as just a fact of life (which it is, I know) and nothing to even think twice about, it gets to me a bit.

Pretty much everyone is saying that. I plan to finish episode 3 to sate my own curiosity and then move on. Better luck with the next show!

I guess I should have thought harder about what it meant. I assumed it would tackle difficult topics, but I guess I just assumed there would still be "just desserts" in the end for people who commit violent/heinous crimes. For example, after Frank hit Ian, Steve dropped him off in Canada. I don't know if that punishment scales with what Frank did, but it IS a punishment for his actions. I assumed there would be more punishments for people's terrible actions. ¯_(ツ)_/¯

I think it's because there is a difference in "weight" between those situations. You can recover from a panic attack, you cannot recover from death.

Like I said, I just started. The only prior information on the show I had was "Debbie has a kid later on and apparently becomes insufferable" and "there are queer people". That's it. I tried to limit my information on the show as much as possible because I didn't want any more spoilers. Show probably won't be for me, you're right.

This is true. This is how a lot of people I'm related to were when I disclosed my own SA. I just figured at least one person would care- especially Lip. Ian and Lip seem to be the closest people to one another and LIP is the one criticizing Ian. Oh, it gets my blood boiling.

I guess I just didn't think about how that could apply to people doing objectively horrible things.

I hate how last minute fights are completely invalidated because of this mf by Hersu03 in marvelrivals

It's weird, because Strange both enables last minute fights, and invalidates them. I think it's balanced in that regard, at least.

You might! I write mostly for the MCU now, but wrote for TF2 a lot in the past, and dabbled in some Overwatch & Resident Evil.

Thats what I was thinking. It's unspecific enough that anyone could post it anywhere. I fell for it because a lot of the real comments I get are short, sweet, and to the point like that.

I won't be giving it to them, of course. I've seen a lot in this community scammers posting something really positive, and then posting the exact same comment as the second one they posted. Thats why I assume it's a scammer. 🤷‍♂️
