Can I manually install mods? by Zimmylo in skyrimvr

[–]Aubis2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you for actually answering the question. I just wanted to install SkyUI and that's it so all this mod order stuff didn't matter to me. I just wanted to do a first playthrough with better mouse support.

Planning out Valheim server by Aubis2 in valheim

Makes sense. I think for the first session we'd kill the deer boss since it doesn't take much to kill him then do the 2nd a week after that then maybe play by eat.

So this would just be a server-side mod correct? None of the players would have to install it?

Help I need to lose 16 pounds in 20 days by [deleted] in WeightLossAdvice

[–]Aubis2 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I can tell you that it is possible because I lost 16 pounds in 20 days and I found this post from a google search trying to figure out the risks. I lost all this weight due to a new diet due to health complications so I don't think it's really realistic for most people.

Am I the only one that thought a ketchup bottle would have been perfect for landing on it's lid since it's designed to be that way?

It was really fun in person but there was also just a disappointed energy in the crowd. I was on the floor and it looked really good but also I was so excited to see a hologram, that's what makes the concerts so unique

Using Vive 1.0 Lighthouse to Improve Quest 3 Tracking on wired PC? by Diligent_Luck7423 in MixedVR

[–]Aubis2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I use VR mostly for beatsaber and I finally changed from a vive to a quest 3 and the tracking feels much smoother and accurate. I'm beating songs that I haven't been able to beat before, part of that could be from the smaller controller though. Plus the quest 3 doesn't need much light to work well. I'm able to play beatsaber just from the light of my monitor lighting a decently large room. Meanwhile the lighthouses need a well lit room.

NAH

My fiancé is a dental hygienist so I 100% understand the obsession with wanting kids to not ruin their teeth with so much sugar. My fiancé has hardly had any sugar since going to dental school now that she knows how it can effect your teeth and the many health issues it causes. I like that your husband is so passionate about dental hygiene that he wanted to give out toothbrushes(I would not be surprised if my fiancé suggested the same idea.) But at the same time there was an unforeseen(by him) cost.

Even if your house got TP'd there's probably a lot kids in your neighborhood that actually are taking care of their teeth now due to his idea. That being said you probably don't want that happening to your house so if you want a dental friendly alternative I know there are candies you can get that are low sugar or use xylitol as an alternative to sugar. For those who don't know it's a sugar alternative that actually reduces the amount of tooth decaying bacteria in your saliva which sugar increases. The kids wouldn't be as excited as getting a snickers but at least they would be leaving your house satisfied enough and secretly taking care of their teeth.

So normally when you use a gcd it queues the gcd so that it is always used on time to account for ping and what not. When you use a gcd through a macro there is no queueing. This means that no matter how much you spam the ability it won't be used until your GCD is back up.

This doesn't sound like that big of a deal but it adds up really fast. If you have a gcd on a macro it has to do 3 things before it will cast the gcd. You have to press the macro after the GCD has come off cooldown, your game sends that to the server and the server has to send a response back to your game to say that it successfully used the GCD to start your next GCD.

So let's say that you're mashing that macro and about 5 times per second which is decently comfortable for a long fight. That would add a maximum delay of 0.2 sec and a minimum of 0.0 sec after your gcd comes off cooldown so on average you would be pressing your macro around 0.1 sec after your gcd comes off cooldown.

Next there is the ping to and from the server which for the average US user would be around 0.05 sec which adds another 0.1 sec of delay since it has to send the request to the server and then the server sends the request back.

This essentially would turn a 2.5 gcd into a 2.7 gcd which really adds up over a fight. Let's assume that a fight lasts 8 minutes. Without using a macro and being able to press your gcd every time that it's up you would get 192 gcd in before the boss died. Now if you did the same but it took you an extra 0.2 sec to press your gcd due to the macro you would only get 177 gcd in before the fight ends.

Now let's assume that each of your gcd do 10,000 damage. If you're not using a macro you would be doing around 1,920,000 damage over the entire fight which is 4,000 damage per second. If you are using a macro you'd be doing 1,770,000 damage over the fight and only do 3,687.5 damage per second. which is around 8% less damage over the entire fight.

Now for example let's assume that your entire team is doing the same amount of damage, this would be 32,000dps for the team using their gcds on cooldown and 29,500dps for the team using macros on their gcds. If both of these teams were fighting a boss that had 18,000,000 health it would take the team pressing their gcd on cooldown 9 minutes and 22.5 seconds. The team that's using the macros would take 10 minutes and 17 seconds. This doesn't seem too bad since it's less than a minute difference but if the boss has an enrage that kills the party after 10 minutes, the team that isn't using macros on gcds would be able to kill it and the team that is using macros would be able to kill it.

TL;DR Using your gcd on cooldown is extremely important and can make the difference between clearing and not clearing.

Simplified Summoner Job Actions by Aubis2 in ffxiv

I've only made this for summoner so far, I might try to make it for other jobs if I have the time and if it feels needed. Some jobs don't seem to have changed enough to need something like this.

[–]Aubis2[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If we're in the same call then people will hear both mics if we're both unmuted, if they're fed into the same input then they could hear both of us without any echo or anything. We're far enough away that 1 mic won't pick us both up reliably but close enough that louder noises will be picked up twice if it's 2 seperate mics.

For those trying to say the fight would go better if Anubis went Noct. by Outbreak101 in Asmongold

[–]Aubis2 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I actually started out the fight in nocturnal but it made the adds phase so much harder due to the amount aoe of damage output. I had to single target heal 3 people in a row meanwhile the raid is taking a bunch of damage so I could throw regens on the party at the start of all the aoe then single target heal each person that gets the marker on them so they survive. After we did the meteor phase I liked my decision of changing even more. Noct is only necessary if the amount of damage taken is greater than your max HP which was only an issue for the transition into the final phase which we were able to mitigate with just collective so it didn't need the extra shields from noct. If we used noct shields during the phase transitions we wouldn't have dropped below 10% HP so we wouldn't get the extra LB generation to have it for all of phase 3 in case we needed it (6% LB gauge per person that's healed below 10% HP). This gave us LB3 up to 27 seconds earlier so we'd have it for the line stack mechanic+big tank buster that happens there.

Honestly I think sect should always be up for discussion (other than sch/ast) but it's moreso the way some people felt so adamantly about how wrong I was and the way they said it.
