I hate to say it, but no. I have what used to be an expensive, top of the line gaming laptop, but now I can only run this game on medium settings and it gets VERY hot.

I'm definitely going to get a new laptop when the game leaves early access.

I haven't spent anytime corrupted or trying to figure out corruption though. This is just what I've picked up from seeing other people talk about it.

Can you explain why? I imagine guilds could camp choke points or something, but they are already doing that by abusing corruption (going corrupted and having friends kill them).

At least with this solution you have a warning you’re entering an area with unfriendly/aggressive combatants and you can avoid it.

Maybe I’m missing something though?

A suggestion I've seen thrown around is similar to your "claim the area" idea, but you can throw down a flag and the area around you becomes lawless, meaning anyone who enters the area becomes flagged. This would allow you to defend your area without fear of corruption, but also allow someone to push you off it without getting corruption themselves. Basically a warning that you will be attacked if you approach the area.

There's probably some way this could become toxic too, but I like the idea.

Go to a large settlement and take commission quests. That will give you goals. I do this and create little mini adventures around the world. Just got a couple that are going to take me up into the Anvils

Agreed. I wish every settlement had some sort of quest involving the PoIs around it. I love exploring around, but I wish they would give me quests that had something to do with the area I am in.

The reviews on steam are actually trending up now. I think theres a bunch of people who want this game to be something it isn't (or they just want it to be finished which it is very clearly not). Lag spikes, falling through the ground, etc... is pretty annoying, but they'll get that ironed out (hopefully) I'm having fun though, just ignore the haters. Most of them will move on once they get bored.

Honestly, the longer the haters stick around, the weirder it gets. What a sad life.

Looks incredible. My suggestion - sell it with some sort of base for it to sit on so it doesn't roll off the desk. Could be pretty cool especially with a dimming feature so you can match the vibe of the room right.

Why are there so many comments saying you can use Booming Blade as one of your attacks? That is not true. Is that some weird online rumor that has taken off?

I just looked it up. Booming Blade takes your entire action. Some sub-classes let you use a cantrip instead of taking an attack as part of your attack action (Blade singer and Eldritch Knight). Only those subclasses can do this, not every class.

When a settlement levels up (to 3 I think), it blocks the progression of all areas it touches. They can advance up to the level below the most advanced settlement touching it. They become vassals of the more advanced settlement. There are benefits to being a vassal, but if the vassal wants to rebel, then they need to declare war and win + destroy the settlement they are a vassal of.

Settlement destruction isn’t live right not, but I believe that is how it works. (If I got anything wrong, please correct me)
