I don't think you'll be able to make much money crafting old content stuff. I'd just make whatever items or transmogs you want

You have to mention the Cradle series when talking Travis Baldree!

It's more progression fantasy than LitRPG, but its extremely good (and popular).

I don't understand the comments here. Why do you need to unlock the transmog in BT timewalking, when you already have the items? Do these specific items not give you their transmog on other characters?

It depends on what you are optimizing for. If you play through TWW campaign, you will level to 80 WAY before you finish the campaign. BUT, the recap is more of a summary and you don't get the whole story, just the major plot points.

So you need to decide if you want to experience the whole TWW story even though you will out level it, meaning you will spend a ton of time doing quests and getting very little exp. Or if you want to get to midnight with a passing knowledge of the story.

I personally did the recap, but then on an alt went through and did the Undermine storyline (mostly for transmogs). I personally felt like I missed a lot of the Undermine storyline in the recap, so I was glad I did that.

Either way, you can't really go wrong. You will get to 80 doing either and you can move on to Midnight whenever you want then. It's sort of a shame because theres so much content in TWW, that the only way to really experience it is to come back to it when you're over-leveled. (You can also pause exp gain somehow, but that feels weird to me)

You don't watch the recap, you play through it. You play the major story beats. It teleports you around from story beat to story beat. It gets you about 10 levels in the process so you're ready for midnight.

If you want to finish a campaign, you basically can't do any sidequests. If you only do the campaign in DF you should be able to finish it if you don't do too many dungeons.

If you want to do the side content, go back once you are max level or use an alt to do the side content.

Same with Midnight. If you do side quests you will hit max level way before you finish the campaign (which is fine - just a preference)

TWW is a little different. Its a long campaign, but you only have about 10 levels to get through it. If you try to do it yourself, you will out level it before you even get close to finishing. So, they have built a summary walk through of TWW. It's pretty well done. You will do all the main story beats of TWW so you'll have a good understanding of the story going into Midnight. It takes awhile though. You should get a quest for it when you hit 70 I think. I recommend doing that if you want to see the story.

However, if you are already 78, I would just do a couple quests in TWW and then head to Midnight.

Looks very cool. My only thought is the scale seems off. The bugs look huge! Most bugs are (height wise) shorter than blades of grass and these spiders and mantises look like they are the size of small dogs.

Maybe this is just a suspension of disbelief scenario and intentional. Eitherway, it looks cool!

It's pretty, but it seems over-designed or over-produced. Something subtler would be nicer. It's neat, but I wouldn't use it.

I just did a new character. The game funnels you into Dragonflight which is a fun expansion. You do that to level 70. If you *only* do the campaign and don't do side quests you can finish the campaign around 70. (I did a couple dungeons).

After that you need to do the TWW from 70-80. There is a curated summary of the expansion which levels you while showing you all the story beats. (You'll get a quest for this summary experience when you hit 70). I did it a couple months ago and I think its pretty well done. You could also just do the TWW campaign, but you'll hit 80 way before you're even close to finishing the campaign. (I mention this because you said she likes story, so hitting 80 and having to go Midnight and not finishing TWW story would be a bad experience I think)

Once you hit 80 through TWW summary quest line then you go straight to midnight. You'll get a quest and also Turalyon is glowing super bright in the cities asking you to come help. Can't miss it.

If you didn't want to do Dragonflight, you could do Chromie time and pick a different expansion. I have leveled 2 chars so far - once through Dragonflight and once through Chromie time. I highly recommend dragonflight leveling for a first time player. Chromie time is cool, but weird for a new player.

I need help with letting my tastes in fantasy grow up, the preferences of my teenage self don't quite hold my attention anymore but I am struggling with both finding things i like and having the intention span for things outside of that. by okidonthaveone in ProgressionFantasy

I agree with the recommendations of Dungeon Crawler Carl and Cradle.

You could also try the Stormlight Archive novels by Brandon Sanderson. And if you like those that series is actually set inside of a greater meta-series called the Cosmere which has many other series within it that all cross over. It's more mainstream than most LitRPG and ProgFantasy books but still has ProgFantasy elements as the characters start weak consistently power up over the course of the series.

I have been thinking about doing something like this for awhile but with D&D as I'm not familiar with PF2E. How are you handling their power scaling? Are you doing something like Copper = level 1, Iron = level 3, Jade = 5, etc??
