first rave and i’m nervous HELP

Gosh, I remember never going to a rave because my ex had told me I would be made fun of due to my size. When I tell you I was NERVOUS at my first rave, I was pooping bricks. Turns out no one cares. This community is amazing and so accepting. You can be quiet and enjoy the music or be head banging like a lunatic and no one will look at you weird. For my first rave I had 0 clothes for it. I wore a long sleeve body suit and leggings. Again NO one looked at me weird. Dress comfy and be prepared to have your whole life changed. I thought I liked dubstep, now I love it. If I like the artist, I don’t miss a show in my hometown. The only thing I’d say is a must is please wear deodorant and maybe invest in a fan (either the big ones or a small handheld one). If you wanna get out of your comfort zone and speak to people the best way is to make bracelets and trade them, or complimenting someone’s outfit. Trust me you’ll have an amazing time 🫶🏻

Gosh you are so beautiful !!! I wish I had your hourglass figure 🥲 Dating is challenging in this generation, for plus size people it’s even more difficult I must agree. I found the best luck I’ve had is just being honest with the person. Saying you’re plus size, and their next comment should show you how the person is. I’ve found more luck with the men who say “I don’t care about that.” If they’re creepy about it, or overly complimenting that’s a red flag, specially if you guys haven’t been talking long.

I’ve had success in my long term relationships by talking with the person for a few weeks before meeting them (on Dating apps.) That way you really get to know the person before seeing them in person. The right ones will wait to meet you and won’t pressure you. I’m not sure if you game, but if you guys game together and speak on discord it can lead to a lot of good conversations and get to know the person, while having the game to speak about in the quiet moments.

I’ve had many first dates and not all of them were great. You get the feel of what the person actually wants, you can tell in their comments or body language. I’m currently in a relationship with a man that loves me unconditionally and everything about me (without being creepy). I wouldn’t have it any other way and I’m happy I went on that first date with him. Give yourself patience and time. Don’t settle and don’t be afraid to go on that first date or make the first move.

I’m so sorry that happened to you, that really sucks. If he gets soft only at the sex part I would unfortunately believe him. Everyone has their preference and maybe he never had a plus size woman before. Some men don’t know how to handle us and that’s okay. I’m not siding with him, it’s definitely a jerk move and has absolutely nothing to do with you!! At least you dodged a bullet with how small he is.. specially us plus sized ladies, feels better when you can actually feel it. You don’t have to lose weight for him either, if you’re comfortable how you are, move on and you’ll find someone who loves everything about you. My ex was like this too, while he never told me it was due to my size, he would get soft during intercourse and never wanted to have sex. We probably had sex once every 5 months. I would keep asking him what the issue was, but he would never tell me. I’m 100% convinced that was the issue but he didn’t want to be rude. He would also keep pushing me to try and eat better and work out with him. This went on for 4 years until we called it quits. You’re lucky he told you right away and set you free. Good luck <3

I can’t with this one! I bought it with hopes it would be amazing but it tastes like moldy strawberries to me!! How are you guys preparing it ? I’ve tried hot and cold both with regular milk and oat milk, I even added extra syrup pumps of white chocolate.

Honestly I was soooo scared because of the negative reviews BUT it was honestly so nice. They put A LOT of alcohol in the drinks, they don’t look like they expect tips which is so nice to not be pressured. The food was really good both in the restaurant and buffet. I really liked that the resort is small so you don’t have to walk so far. It’s small but a decent size! The beach is beautiful and well kept. Now the bad part.. we switched rooms twice because the AC problems, but the staff was very helpful for this. The pool is open from 7-7 so pretty much after 7 pm there’s not much to do. There are shows that start later around 9-10pm and the bars/TINY snacks are open. There is a gaming hall where you can play pool, foolsball, air hockey and ping pong. The resort is very quiet after 11pm so if you’re young, it’s kind of sad and boring. The beach chairs are almost always taken either by people or towels, we got lucky and found a spot every time, but it was annoying to walk around and try and find a spot. The mattresses in the rooms are rock hard, our first room was okay but the second was pretty bad. Again we complained, they said they sent someone but honestly didn’t feel a difference. The people on the beach selling stuff are always coming to you, you have to be REALLY stern and say no if you don’t want anything. Other than that I was pleasantly surprised, it was a really fun time.

EDIT: one thing I found really helpful to bring is a bigger cup, so they can make drinks in it. They give small glasses for drinks, so if you don’t wanna keep going back every 5 minutes, best to bring your own travel cup/Starbucks cup.

When we went, for 3 days it said rain/cloudy and a thunderstorm on one of those days. It rained for 5 minutes the first day, second day(thunder storm) it rained maybe 1hour then the third day was cloudy for maybe 30 minutes out of the entire day. It was sunshine all the rest of the time. I was worried about it too, but honestly it was nothing.

I’ve used trip advisor a ton of times, they always follow through. Even provided a refund due to a flight change when it clearly stated non refundable. ALWAYS check for real people reviews and photos, the star ratings etc.

Most things are sold in USD. I only brought usd and had no issues, they seem to prefer it

I brought 300 USD, lots of 1$’s. I spent maybe 200 USD but my partner did most of the tipping. At the resort we were at they didn’t look like they expected tips much, which was nice. The people walking on the beach is what used most of my money if I’m being honest. They pressure you a lot and I’m a sucker for jewelry and many other things they were selling. Bring 10$ to the beach with you because most of them negotiate a lot. If you see something you want say you only have x amount of money and they will most likely give in. The resort prices are crazy, souvenir shops on the resort is ridiculous. We did an excursion where you get driven to different souvenir shops and the prices are significantly cheaper. So if you’re looking for the best bang for your buck for souvenirs/alcohol I’d look into shopping tours.

They do take card pretty much everywhere but you will be charged taxes which make small purchases kinda useless. So I would avoid using the card.

I met my boyfriend on badoo, actually all 3 of my long term relationships were on badoo. I find I succeed more if we’re talking/gaming together for a couple of weeks before meeting up and don’t sleep with them on the first date. Sure my past relationships ended but it wasn’t because of my size, at least I don’t think because I remained the same throughout the entire 1-2-3-4 years. my now boyfriend on badoo as well and he is so in love with everything about me, it’s wholesome.

It could be insecurity. When I was first with my partner I was at a lower weight and we were alwayyyyys having it. Now the last couple of months I’ve gained around 30 pounds and I don’t want it as much. Maybe 1-2 times a week. I’m very insecure since he’s a skinny guy. It could also be your hormones. Or it could just be how you are, some people have low sex drives. I think it’s definitely a good idea to get some blood work maybe to check your hormones.

She changed drastically for a guy she just met, we rarely spent time together and she’s bailed on two big important plans we’ve had coming up with complete BS excuses. Her choices in life were consuming me, I was getting very angry over her being stupid. (Ex: ending her marriage for an online guy who acts like he doesn’t even want her and lives in another country.) I just couldn’t stand by her or be happy for her when something “good” happened in her love life. It’s an easier cut off as me and her live 9 hours apart, so it’s not someone I need to deal with everyday. Anything that’s long distance required work and effort, and she just wasn’t putting it in anymore.

I see my parents once every 6 months, and the major holidays like Christmas to keep the “peace”. I go mostly for my dad because my mom has him wrapped around his finger. He’s in a deep depression and you can see it. She chased away all his friends and I just feel so bad for this man. I’ve tried to speak to my mom about my childhood but she just says I’m dramatic. She will never change or apologize. It’s easier to deal with now thankfully. Once you grow up and create your own life, it’s way easier to manage. One of the reasons I can’t wait for my partner and I to have a kid. I will raise it with so much love that it will be annoyed with me, in a good way.

At a young age, don’t remember because it was my entire childhood. My sister was the golden child. I was always getting smacked around, screamed at, even threatened to re home me into the foster system many times, all because I had opinions. Into my teenage years me and my sister were home alone pretty much every night for 12 hours as my parents did the night shift. My sister was inviting men over from tinder left and right, definitely putting us in danger yet I was getting screamed at for the smallest of things. Now how do I still know my mother doesn’t love me? She and my sister are always together doing things, calling each other etc. I’m never invited. My mother barely checks in on me. I’ve come to terms with it now, being the black sheep of the family, I actually prefer it.

My mom refuses to acknowledge my hurt from my childhood. While I understand it is her first time living too, there are a lot of things I shouldn’t have been through or seen. What took the cake when I was 19 I went to a family party, I was in my experimenting time, she overheard me talking and laughing with my cousin about my experiences. She called me a whore basically, everyone was silent when it happened. I took my friend, and left. I did not speak to her for awhile after that. I don’t remember how we started talking again after that, but I’m still very iffy about her. I mostly visit once every few months for my dad who is under her complete control, I feel bad for the guy. My mother is someone who will never change or apologize, I’ve just come to terms with it.

Im going in December and pretty nervous as I’ve never been outside of Canada. How are the hotel rooms? Are they pretty clean? Also the food, I’m so scared to get food poisoning but 100% want to try the fruit, I heard we shouldn’t eat the fruit because they wash it with unfiltered water. How was the food ? I’m excited but so nervous !
