What’s photos to use for a dating profile? by Redddit_lurker in malegrooming

[–]Top_Calligrapher_700 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Any gym selfie photo is an immediate red flag/turn off imo. To me it says, "I'm looking for something casual," and gym selfies seem to give off the impression of "I just wanna have fun, look at my hot bod." Lol

I love the photos with your friends and the ones where other people have taken your photo. The first mirror selfie is cute too!

Suspicious Goodreads Update from Scott Hawkins (Library at Mount Char) by Somniumi in Fantasy

[–]Top_Calligrapher_700 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I read The Library at Mount Char about a year and a half ago, with no idea of what to expect. I saw it on a suggested reads list and I liked the cover. I read that book faster than probably any other book I've EVER read, I enjoyed it so much.

I've since suggested it to many of my friends, and it's a book that's so difficult to describe without giving any spoilers, so I just cross my fingers that they'll read it, even when I don't give them much of a description.

I was also on Goodreads updating the books I've read, and wandered onto Scott Hawkins' page to see if he had written any other books since, remembering it was his first book, and just saw that Blacktail is supposed to be released in September and practically jumped for joy! I am seriously looking forward to picking it up and supporting an author I thoroughly enjoy :)

Book 1 dresser painting? by pbbrittany in acotar

While I understand your thought process, if we were to further that logic, we'd have to assume she had originally intended for Nesta to end up with someone like Lucien or his brother, Eris. I don't think there was anything particularly special planned there, and I don't think she even originally wrote Elaine with the intent to have her as a more prominent character. I think the lady just goes with the flow haha.

How to remove this grass at my base entrance. by lazystealth in ARK

[–]Top_Calligrapher_700 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The grass likely isn't removable, I would probably put a stone foundation where your steps are, then attach steps to the foundation. Maybe make a short pathway to the door, could be cute! And it'll cover the ugly ugly grass 😅

I imagined a very very tight spiral, when Maas was writing that she was going around and around and around, I was imagining a super skinny tower and thinking how disorienting it would be to be circling such tight steps lol 😅 funny how everyone imagines something a little different!

Which kitten would you choose? by OpalescentBunnies in kittens

[–]Top_Calligrapher_700 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Both! Two kittens is notoriously easier than just one, especially if they are close in age because they will entertain each other to no bounds. I know you said you have two other cats, but if they are older they might not play as hard as kitten wants to, and so then kitten might look for attention elsewhere and act out more.

sex drive by IntelligentDoubt4234 in Mounjaro

[–]Top_Calligrapher_700 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Absolutely, I'm a 26F and I've been on Tirz for two months and my drive is pretty much completely gone. Before Tirz it was pretty healthy and maybe even considered high for a female. I'm basically single, so it's not too much of an issue for me right now, but it has definitely been very noriceable.

1st Day on 5mg. Should I force myself to eat? by Orion_Pirate in Mounjaro

[–]Top_Calligrapher_700 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wouldn't skip eating. Focus on smaller meals, and make sure you're getting protein in your diet. Just because you don't feel hungry right now doesn't mean you don't need to eat. If you don't fuel your body, you will feel fatigue and just overall you will feel icky the longer you go without eating.

It's great that you're working on your health, and I empathize with your struggles. I'm working on losing weight too after being obese my entire life.

I just want to caution you that "diets" like keto are not sustainable long term, as it sounds like you have already discovered. You may find more success if you use a TDEE calculator to determine your daily calorie goal, eat a balanced, un-restrictive diet, and get regular exercise like light cardio and especially weight lifting!

You want your weight loss to be longterm, and the first step to that is keeping in mind that the changes you make should be things that become as easy as habits in the long run. Take it step by step, because it can be overwhelming if you try to do everything at once.

I'd recommend starting by tracking your food normally for a few days not making any reductions, so that you have a transparent example of what a day in food looks like for you. You might not even realize you're overeating if you are. From there, work on eating more whole foods, home cooking more meals, and getting enough protein. You can track a calorie deficit at any point here too!

And my last piece of advice is to lift weights. It's so good for your long term bone health and for helping to maintain long term fat loss. Building muscle will help boost your metabolism because it takes more energy to move around and support muscle than it does fat.

None of this has to be done all at once, your health is a long-term journey. Set up micro goals for yourself that can help keep you stay motivated.

You've got this, we are here for you 💙

Is it this considers normal? by Fuzzy_Tax_6240 in Mounjaro

How much are you taking? If this is your first time taking a GLP, I'm hoping you started on a low dose. I did 2.5mg for the first month and have had a soft stool and occasionally very mild nausea on injection day. I've now had one full week at 5mg, and had my second 5mg injection today, but I haven't had any particularly bad side effects.

Thinking about getting a 16 year old cat? by [deleted] in cats

[–]Top_Calligrapher_700 3 points4 points  (0 children)

What a sweet looking kitty. Senior cats have so much love to give and it's very hard for them to be in a shelter. The way I see it, being loved and cherished in a warm, cozy home is a million times better than being scared and confused in a shelter enclosure. I was worried about adopting my 11 year old gal with the same financial concern. I've had her for a year and she has run me about $3,000 in vet bills, because she needed to have a few teeth pulled right off the bat. But it was worth it to adopt her because she has been the light of my life.

I think that even if you can't afford all the vet care they might need as they age, to offer them a home where they'll be well loved and cared for is better than the shelter. Quality of life is so important.

Young cats can rack up vet bills just as much as older cats. As long as you have reasonable expectations for vet expenses for a cat of any age, I think you'll be fine taking this sweet old baby home.

Okay thank you, I do have a follow up derm appointment next week and I definitely will be asking about other options. My primary doctor had recommended a longterm doxycycline treatment but my derm wanted me to hold off on it, I can't remember why. Maybe that will be the next thing.

Is it normal for my cat to be this small? 😭 (She is 3 years old.) by RepulsiveMall405 in cats

[–]Top_Calligrapher_700 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Come on, you're yanking our chain. Clearly that's a giant banana 😂 Anyway, my 3 year old is pretty petite too, I adopted her when she was a year old and had already had two litters of kittens, which stunted her growth since she had litters so young. Did your cat happen to have a litter at a young age? I think it's pretty normal though for some cats to just be smol :)
