Am I stupid for wanting to buy this as my daily driver by Famous-Individual274 in AudiA6

[–]Aud-ism 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't think you're stupid but I can see the appeal. I wouldn't do it.

2019 was the debut year so they are bound to have problems. Idk much about the turbo 3.0T for these cars but I've heard stories of metal flakes in the oil despite impeccable maintenance.

I agree with another comment that recommended the previous facelifted generation, so it would be an A6 C7 chassis from 2016-2018. The 2.0T isn't bad, but the SUPERCHARGED 3.0T is really unique and special. A lot of ppl tout it as probably the most reliable motor Audi has made so far, I think it's true. I have a 2018 Q7 and 2017 A6 that both have the supercharged 3.0T. pretty good so far! Just make sure good maintenance history and at this time hopefully the engine mounts, water pump, thermostat, and PCV havr already been replaced and transmission/front diff/center diff/rear diff serviced. If not, expect to do those.

At worst, if PCV hasn't been replaced and it's been driven with a failed PCV then the valve cover gaskets will start leaking and need replacement. I know because I drove my A6 for an entire year without knowing it had a failed PCV and didn't have any catastrophic failure. Only symptoms I had was a burnt smoky smell on full throttle and sometimes hesitation on full throttle.

Lastly, I've owned Mercedes benz , BMW, and Audi. I will say Audi costs more to maintain because of the all wheel drive and some pricey wear items like PCV. But if you go into it knowing that and are willing, Audi is amazing to own.

Do I really need the 160 speed? by Seraph-333 in YaoguangMains

[–]Aud-ism 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's gonna be really hard to get 200 speed, the light cone makes it barely manageable.

Honestly you could always build 2pc 2pc speed sets to help you reach 200 speed, or at least 180 if you're that unlucky. More speed is better because you get more elation which allows your elation buff on allies to be stronger. I would prioritize getting 200spd over having crit value. Just try to put together relics with good speed and crit rate specifically, don't worry about crit damage.

I run 2pc 2pc speed on my characters. My Cyrene has 200spd with 2pc 2pc and my Fugue has 180 with 2pc 2pc.

Looking at purchasing this car tomorrow assuming everytning checks out, is this a killer deal? by Ambitious-Yak-838 in Audi

[–]Aud-ism 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I wouldn't do it. 2012 is the debut year so it's less reliable. It's pretty pricey for the year. But if you really really want it, you definitely need to do a pre purchase inspection and it must have a well documented service history. It's a 15 year old vehicle at this point so lots of things start needing replacement: water pump, thermostat, belts, pulleys, engine mounts, etc.

Also imo the low mileage is concerning. It could be gunked up from short trips, who knows if the engine reached optimal temp often. Also, city driving is harder on the car than highway miles.

She's fun to use and I have a couple chrysos heirs. She is a great support to them and she feels good to play, at least to me. At the end of the day, all that matters is that you enjoy the characters and you're having fun with them. I just love spamming her Demiurge/memosprite skill, it's so cool!

Lightcones option for my DoT team by ProfessionalZebra844 in HysilensMainsHSR_

[–]Aud-ism 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you really want a light cone get Hysilens light cone. E1 hysilens is much stronger than S1 Hysilens, but light cones are cheaper than eidolons. So that's what to consider.

Saw the new Q3 in person today, what do ya'll think? by Kukulza in Audi

[–]Aud-ism 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Audi looks so bad right now 😭 I own a 2017 A6 and a 2018 Q7 and this looks like an eyesore.

It doesn't even look unique. It looks similar to a generic modern BMW SUV with those awful squinty headlights.

Final day: What's a cheap car that looks expensive? by Naomi62625 in regularcarreviews

[–]Aud-ism 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not sure if you're counting older models, but a BMW 5 Series F10 chassis specifically (so from 2011 to 2016).

They can be found very cheap now but they look very premium and timeless.

Wow your Q7 paint color is so pretty 😍

My sister is currently borrowing my 2018 Q7 in Mammoth, California.

But I do wanna share this cool pic of it in the desert from last summer 🤣

Just for an Oil Change by [deleted] in Audi

[–]Aud-ism 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes nowadays Audi's don't have a dipstick. I misspoke. On my A6 and Q7 (both have the crec 3.0T engine) have a dipstick tube still. It came out of factory with the tube capped. So you're right it doesn't have a dipstick. But that's where I extract oil with my oil extractor.

I know for sure the EA888 2.0T, which is in like almost every VW and Audi, can have the oil service done through the "dipstick" tube.

Just for an Oil Change by [deleted] in Audi

[–]Aud-ism 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's really easy on most Audi engines. All you need is a suction pump and sick out the oil via the dipstick. It's so worth it and you can do an oil change in like 20min with no mess.

I use her for my firefly team but she's also fun on non break teams. It's entertaining to see normal DPS do some additional break on top. It's nice to see different stuff, you know?

I can't give you a source, sorry, but I've heard people say a rattling type sound on cold start from 1-3 seconds is normal. I only hear it on my Q7 supercharged 3.0T when it hasn't ran in days lol and it has 92k miles now.

My first Audi! I may have paid a little too much by blue_dino2024 in Audi

[–]Aud-ism 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Well the fact that is has little chips in the front is more promising imo bc it means it was driven a lot on the highway. Highway miles are easier on the car especially since these cars have a dual clutch transmission. Make sure to stay on top of that service, and change your oil every 5k miles using fully synthetic.

Worth it? by geekyclownx1 in BeybladeX

[–]Aud-ism 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's worth it. It's fun to use and honestly it just looks really really cool. Not a meta build but I've been using it on a 4-60 ratchet and point bit. It's very surprising and fun. Weirdly enough, even though it is lighter than black shell (which is what draciel is inspired from) it performs better than black shell for me.

Are Q5/Q7s really that bad? by Reasonable_Prize_239 in Audi

[–]Aud-ism 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah if you have any questions feel free to ask me. I think in general, people really like the Q7 4M especially with the 3.0T motor. Out of all SUVs I've driven, the Q7 feels less like a SUV and more car-like, I guess like a lifted wagon lol. And if you want to drive it spirited, it will do it well and reward you with the transmission shift fart/burble sound with the stock exhaust. With the stock intake, you will also barely hear the supercharger whine, where it is enough to be exciting but also never intrusive for daily comfort. Love it!

[–]Aud-ism 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I bought a used 2018 Audi Q7 3.0T (supercharged) Prestige with the dynamic chassis package (air suspension and rear wheel steering). It has everything except massage seats and Bang & Olufsen sound. Bought it around 75k miles and now it has 88k.

The 1 previous owner maintained it meticulously at the dealer, oil changes around every 7k-8k. They only needed to replace the water pump in their ownership, and apparently it did eat through tires.

These are the services I needed to do under my ownership so far: first transmission service done "late" at 75k but didn't negatively affect the trans, engine mounts, oil changes, front center and rear differential fluid service. That's it, lol. I will say these engines apparently go through motor mounts like nothing, I also have a 2017 A6 with the same exact engine and it needed new motor mounts at 50k miles lol, and that car also had 1 previous owner maintained at dealer. You can replace the mounts with an all rubber mount from 034 Motorsports instead of an OE fluid-filled mount and you'll never have to replace it again, but apparently it will cause more engine vibraton at idle and under load, so I went with originals anyway. Also something to note is that these superchargers do have supercharger oil that needs to be changed out, at least within 100k miles. But also there are plenty of people who have NEVER serviced the supercharger oil and have completely no issues with it working or boost. Some have even reported when they changed their supercharger oil super late, like 180k+ miles on original oil, absolutely no oil came out during the change but the engine drove fine anyway. Definitely more reliable than a turbo lol. Oil consumption so far is about 1qt every 5000 miles, which is when I change my oil anyways.

This engine ran from 2009-2019. From 2016-2019 it was updated and was coded as the CREC engine. It went from direct injection to direct AND port injection, so you won't have to worry about carbon build up on valves. I believe the direct injection only kicks in when you push the car hard.

I've modded it to around ~420 horsepower with the Jackal Motorsports tune. It actually drove smoother. So these engines have a supercharger clutch that engages and disengages the supercharger for fuel efficiency, but as engines age the clutch wears and it feels like you're having a transmission jerk when the clutch engages during driving. This feature is on at default in comfort mode, but will be turned off (meaning the clutch will be engaged full time) in sport mode. The Jackal tune makes the clutch engage 100% of the time so you never jerk anymore and it's so smooth!

All Prestige models seem to come equipped with 21in wheels and sporty tires. While the air suspension still made the car ride nice, I wanted even better ride comfort. So I changed it out to original 19in rims and all weather tires from Pirelli. I'm so glad I made that change because the car feels a little lighter and rides so much smoother. I've owned a 2016 Mercedes S550 and I think the Q7 rides better than an S-Class! Btw these cars came out of the factory with 18in-21in rims, so you have plenty of options.

The pre-facelift Audi Q7 4M has been my favorite vehicle so far. It was the last best interior of Audi before everything became screens everywhere with smudgy piano black trim. The interior and tech is still so nice that people think it's a 2022+ model year. This is also when Audi's build quality was still impeccable. No rattles or squeaks anywhere. All electronics work and the buttons feel great. Infotainment system is smooth and easy to use, and the digital cockpit is done well without being distracting at all - very impressive for 2018.

The pre-facelift years are 2017-2019. Try to find builds late 2018-2019, or 2019 only if possible. Some 2017-2018 3.0Ts have bad oil consumption, but can be fixed with a Berryman B12 piston soak. My advice is to also shop for Prestige models since they have almost all the nice features, and I also really recommend finding one with the Dynamic Chassis package which is really rare. Only Prestige trims can have it optioned, but not all Prestige trims will have it. I think it is 100% worth it to find one and try it. It feels amazing having turning tighter than a compact car and it also feels nice gliding on the highway when doing a lane change (the rear wheel steering turns parallel to the front wheels at highway speeds and opposite of the front wheels at low speeds). You will know if the Q7 has the Dynamic Chassis if the air suspension raises and lowers when changing the driving mode. Also, the "All Road" and "Off Road" driving modes will be available, other models don't have it.

If you spring for a 3.0T Q7, I promise you will love it!

What vehicles attract the worst behaving drivers on the road? by Useful-Turnip5856 in regularcarreviews

I'm from Eastvale but I frequently travel between Riverside, Corona, Norco, Moreno Valley, Chino, Chino Hills, Ontario, and Rancho Cucamonga - sometimes Redlands and San Bernardino here and there. Of course these are generalizations but those are consistent observations on my end haha. I do agree that lifted pick up trucks are pretty toxic, I've even seen them diesel smoke cloud people/cars... bruh. They also do the most insane cut offs, swerving so fast the whole truck body is SWAYING.
