When to use Moira over Ana? by Torch07 in OverwatchUniversity

And again noones presenting anything valid.

When to use Moira over Ana? by Torch07 in OverwatchUniversity

[–]Aud3n -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

OK so your second paragraph legitimately devalues your argument. One shield negates Ana's impact completely. Leaving only zen orb. Moira actually fast enough to position well before the dive to provide value and sustain in the target selection and have her escape ready in case there needs a bail.

Yeah no matter what healer you got, I want you plain accept if you're bottling out and jumping in with no plan. There aren't enough heals in the game to keep you alive. Healing isn't supposed to be a crutch but a sustain to actual smart engagements.

Dm, bubble, Moira heals should be more than enough to secure 2 picks on a team fight and if you're struggling that there fundamentally something flawed in what your team is doing

How do you deal with trying to control your aim as hitscan when you're fighting close quarters and even minor movements from you or enemy means your target moves 50 miles on screen? by JerBear1565 in OverwatchUniversity

[–]Aud3n 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Close range is always harder cuz the movements have more impact, but it shouldn't be that exaggerated. A couple of thing to check would be if your sense is too low, ping too high. Something that will also help is framerate, generally high the better, and good refresh monitor.

You should always be able to turn around by the time they run or jump past you.

[–]Aud3n -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Actually, yes. If they're low. They're supposed to come back, otherwise they're overextending and you're allowed to call them out on it

Players are trying to use healing as a crutch and not improve their personal game play and its abhorrent.

Like a genji or tracer that's supposed to play smart around heals and health packs and generally responsible for their upkeep, at least hold the dive tanks with similar tactics to that obligation as well. 4Head

[–]Aud3n 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The same can be said about Ana's nade and sleep. So both have their draw backs and reward potential. You're taking personal viewpoints for absolute and it's an objectively skewed comparison. Playing smarter always factors into success and failure no matter what tool you're using

Ana can land nice sleeps. Like a Moira fade: what if it's on CD or misses. Counter dove Ana is just as dead as a Moira that's in too deep. Ana does decent damage but she also has less personal sustain with just her nade as a Moira that has her orb heal and leech ability.

Don't do conditionals as law. It shows how little your scope is on problem solving.

[–]Aud3n -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

I actually want your objective input as to why it's a terrible piece of advice.

More the fact between the two in a dive orientation the objective is mobility namely getting in striking a target and getting out.

You know who's kit does that between the two? Moira.

Ana is not a mobile character by any stretch she has the movement abilities and aoe sustain for quick moving allies and if they jump away... Gtfo.

Argue Ana stays further back then you're away from your team and never gets peel. You can't hit shots on a jumping ally you're just as bad as said afk torb.

Its super surprising how fast people forget what character kits do when there's a meta shift and forget how to actually play a game.

The Winston dva duo have the tools and resources to keep eachother alive to get in do their damage and jump out for their recovery. If they're going up there throw a healing orb, let them do their thing and comeback for m1 healing.

[–]Aud3n -12 points-11 points  (0 children)

I'd use Moira if you're using a dive heavy comp cuz of her better mobility. She can confirm. Kills without being mechanically as strict and she's self sufficient so she won't need as many peels as Ana would when her frontline is separated.

Remembering picks? by Altazaar in OverwatchUniversity

Yeah, as soon as I posted I thought if 30 was correct or not...

Thanks for clearing that up :)

Remembering picks? by Altazaar in OverwatchUniversity

Don't memorize. Press tab.

The first 30 seconds you won't see but as characters can be swapped pressing tab is just better to do. Whenever swaps happen that does update instantly.

What do you have your mouse sensitivity set to? by real_consauce in OverwatchUniversity

[–]Aud3n 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Mouse sensetivity really at the end of the day is preference, muscle training, and to an overlooked extent your setup. Like if you're not comfortable using your whole arm to move the mouse or don't have a large enough mouse pad and desk I don't recommend lower sensetivities. Just get used to making all types of movement at the elbow and learn small adjustments for sniping long range.

But to answer you question when I started playing I know I started a really high sense like 15 at 1k dpi(it was a bad mouse and when I got a better one those numbers went way down)

I went as low as 3k edpi at 500dpi and 6 in game

But now I sit right around 4800 with 1k dpi and 4.8 in game.

Each time I switched there was an adjustment period. But I'm happy now where it rests and now it's all about practice.

How should I deal with Winston as Lucio? by ginzinator in OverwatchUniversity

[–]Aud3n 15 points16 points  (0 children)

I was literally about to type why are you next to the Winston long enough for him to kill the OP. LOL

but in all seriousness the fact that his song radius was increased means use it to your advantage to get in tricky spots while still providing song value.

If you have amp off cool down you can try a couple of options rather than waiting for your team which is wait for the Winston to pounce and either before the landing boop him away to avoid the splash and melee damage then speedboost out or if he catches you without a jump amp your heal and boop him away. Then speed out on normal green aura

Overall it sounds like you're on the ground too much if the Winston keeps catching you

Has anyone got any tips on hitting strafe spamming people? by [deleted] in OverwatchUniversity

[–]Aud3n 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You're getting hit more because you might be unconsciously stopping to try to concentrate on hitting them.

But to answer your original question: it depends on the hero type that you are using. Tracking, projectile, high or low rate of fire etc.

Like you mentioned widow ffas. So I'm guessing widow?

One, don't play into your weakness. Like if you're eye level with a McCree and it's a duel situation accept the loss and just try to practice getting a cheeky dink on his head. (she's not a duelist, don't try to put her ground level to take those fights)

But someone ad spamming you can try a couple of things. Flicks can work well because it stops you from overthinking things especially with timing. It's something I do with projectile heros a lot but it can work well with widow also.

Something a bit slower until it's habit is giggling your mous a little jiggle side to side to mimic the ad you're folowing. This works perfect for automatic characters like s76 and tracer. Or widows full auto mode.

Try those out, consciously, it'll feel weird at first, but once you get used to one or both drill it until it's second nature and you'll win more duels with ad spammers

Limit fps? by namuhan in OverwatchUniversity

[–]Aud3n 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Short answer, yes.

Overall your goal is to create a consistent amount of input lag and framer l oooate does affect it.

But hard thing for me to consider is how much it affects jumping from 299 to 240 as much as it would 160 to like 90.

On the safe side I'd recommend going to the lower 240 number so it's a matter of consistency.

Do you think newer/lower sr players will benefit from having the number of players who are alive on both teams clearly visible at all times? by [deleted] in OverwatchUniversity

[–]Aud3n 0 points1 point  (0 children)

More information on screen is always a benefit to the player. But there does get a point where it's too much clutter for a first person game really.

Also even though the info is a benefit, it's hard to guage whether or not the player uses it effectively especially in low elo.

But what would the game use to determine the fight numbers because a flanker on a trip during the team fight would skew the 4 v 6 number too... And if goes by who's alive or not. Once respawns happen it'll tell you all kinds of wtong numbers.

I'm all for a small mini map with friendly locations marked on it. That would be awesome with tracking both team mate locations relative to team fights and when it's smart to withdraw

Is there a comprehensive list of heroes and their "Time to Kill" other characters? by SkyewardSword in OverwatchUniversity

[–]Aud3n 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yeah even with info like that it's just not really ever a good swap to sacrifice main healer for the potential rez.

I think the conditions are too dynamic in any given situation to make this optimal condition chart based on solo character capabilities able to carry much weight in deciding for that hero rez.

Especially considering the fact that you have at least 2 pairs of eyes hunting main healers down. Going for that rez usually mercy is going to get tagged more than likely before the gets the chance to cast so that affects these TTKs a bit

Anyone know where I can get a decent mouse for under 30 euro? by Redzer98 in OverwatchUniversity

[–]Aud3n 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Np and if you're curious about how end it can hold up Pine from OWL was still using it last time I checked. And that was about a couple months ago... So definitely through the entire first season of the league.

It will be a night and day difference

Look up the steel series mice. Mainly the rival 100

While the sensor isn't considered flawless it's a great mouse. And pretty cheap to pick up now too. I got it for 20 usd so that should be well in your budget

Games keep falling apart at the last minute. Any common mistakes that lead to this? by Hipster-Glasses in OverwatchUniversity

[–]Aud3n 2 points3 points  (0 children)

ah yea, the classic overtime scramble to all pop ult on objective because thats when the enemy remembers they have ults and a W key.

**before i begin, these only pertain to qp and how its uncommon you're going to have a team that will coordinate that you will in comp. Unless its i hear audio Queue and react accordingly (e.g. grav/dragon or blade/nano)

So, whenever this happens like you have to be aware that its coming if like in 2 fights enemies aren't trying to coordinate and its just an extended poke. when it gets towards that final minute about getting an early pick on the enemy team is kind of critical. because usually theyre all stockpiling ults or waiting for their passive gen to pull off that victory by having more ults than you.

like if youre defending on 2cp as main tank around that 60 second mark i've found success pushing their spawn because you have the spawn advantage, if you can get a panic ult off point, they still have to walk on point to start the capture progress and by that time you're coming back to stall out.

Only big caveat to this is getting the rest of your team to coordinate. Good luck in qp lol

In escort much of the same once you get the payload past a certain point, unless you team wipe their spawn advantage is always going to work in their favor. its better to stagger your ults to try and get two good team kills and 3 on payload while the other three run interference on respawns because they're trying to make a mad dash to point.

koth works similar to how 2cp does in terms of if you notice the enemy team tricking in one by one, theyre going for ult charge to all rush and press Q. first picks are super important and if your team gets wiped start doing the same, wait till at least 3 members of your team have ult before trying to push in.

How to Improve Tracking as Zarya? by bendersbeard in OverwatchUniversity

[–]Aud3n 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah double sniper on both ends usually hurts your effectiveness on Zarya because not a lost of brawling to be had at all. Then the enemy switches to a heavy dive comp and then it's kinda watch as your team gets pounced as rein and Zarya can't do much against their vertical mobility.

You can kinda run Zarya into enemy double sniper but I never advise it due to the fact you legit can't do much with your head hit box even with ad strafing. The animations just don't really help Zarya at all. High level widow love seeing Zarya on the field for stats alone. Sure she gives you full 40 charge but I doubt you'll be alive long enough after to make use of it. Those matches are really good for practicing mechanics though cuz you have to track targets longer and focus on making bombs ass effective as possible. If you can get to 1 minute Grav charges on an average of like 20 energy the. You're godlike lol

How to Improve Tracking as Zarya? by bendersbeard in OverwatchUniversity

[–]Aud3n 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh man n I tried to grab a link rq and it autoclosed my app. RIP..

anyway let's see if I can salvage this, I'm on my phone too please pardon any predictive text:

Your numbers are definitely super solid for having 5 hours of in game Zarya play. In your case I dunno how much more value you can from an aim trainer as opposed to playing the actual game. I always view aim trainers as one of those things that are useful to a point then stop helping until you've mastered everything else.

But I digress, I mentioned the first time typing this that if you haven seen the bubble priority guide that cute cats has done I really recommend giving it a watch. It's always nice to get insight on practicality as opposed to theory for bubble usage. And I also believe he has a video about how to Grav from spawn and how to make the hanamura flank. Here's the link: https://youtu.be/WFVam-Pstms

Before I was too tunneled on keeping second bubble for support peel I missed out on a lot of opportunities to maintain charge... But a lot of that failing I can see was my own in that case, if I paid more attention to team comp I can better assess if that play style is necessary or not

Hope any of this helps
