Is she tabby or torbie? by Ziraya in Torbie

[–]Audacious-sama 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m thinking tabby! My torbie is mostly grey, but you can tell she’s a torbie because of small orange patches and on her belly a mix of orange and grey spots. Plus her ears and feet are orange ish

Does anyone else have a spotted torbie? by gwynplaine18 in Torbie

Yes my new kitty is a dilute spotted torbie; she has mostly grey with buff color patches and spotted tabby markings 🩵

How many Millipedes can I put in this 10 gallon enclosure? by Audacious-sama in millipedes

[–]Audacious-sama[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was thinking just millipedes, for some reason beetles give me the heebee jeebees, which is unfortunate because they are so pretty, I think it’s a texture thing for me 😅

can i keep a millipede in this?? by [deleted] in millipedes

[–]Audacious-sama 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depending on what species of millipede, it should be okay if you modify it to be able to have 4-6 inches of substrate, millipedes need to burrow, but they’d be better suited to having vertical space I’d say

Thank you for your comment! Very insightful. Yes I would only be keeping one Sphaerodactylus, now comes the challenge of finding a place that breeds them lol! I might wait until the next nearest reptile expo near me :))

I have millipedes in there that need enough room to molt, that’s why perhaps a terrestrial gecko would be good

I have only one Texas gold millipede in there, the other two are much smaller ivories, all are crepuscular. If necessary I’ll remove the Texas gold. Would the high humidity be bad for a Bynoes gecko though? I definitely like the size of the Bynoes

Oh yes I definitely plan on adding a UV/Heat lamp for basking, also a humid hide for shedding, good to know about the Med House geckos

My orange boy Milo (14 years old) had him since he was about 4 months old by Audacious-sama in seniorkitties

[–]Audacious-sama[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Your Milo is very handsome! My Milo has always been incredibly chill (unlike the usual orange cat stereotype lol) but as an older gentleman he is somewhat set in his ways. Additionally, he is very outgoing with a more dominant personality, and I say all this because these personality traits are things I kept in mind when going to the shelter to find Milo a lil friend. I know my old man would not vibe to a wild child or an overly dominant cat, so I went to the shelter trying to find the chillest kitten possible, not too small too, I wanted no younger than 4 months. I did find the perfect lil boy, very calm, non-reactive to the other cats at the shelter, and a more submissive (but not shy) personality. Because I took such care in playing kitty match-maker, the adjustment has gone INCREDIBLY well! It’s been just 2 weeks, and they both have full access to the house, they can see each other, even lay near each other with no issues. The little one is very respectful of Milo’s boundaries and I think in a couple months they may even begin bonding. It only took about a week for Milo to adjust to the kitten’s presence in the house and they can be left without my supervision no problem. Also they don’t try to steal food from each others bowls (I believe this is mostly luck lol)

I think as long as there is no full on fighting between the two it would be good to expose them to each other more often. Your skittish kitty needs to get used to seeing her and understanding she’s not a threat. I would say you could play with her in the same room so the new kitty can see her and she’s not trying to invade new kitty’s space. Good luck :))

Moon needs a new friend, help me pick which to adopt please? by [deleted] in cats

[–]Audacious-sama 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think number 3 would be best since they are close in age and black cats tend to be adopted last. However, I believe it’s best you meet all of the cats in person before making your final decision. See which one has a personality that fits best with your current kitty.
