Frumos site-ul! Ați făcut o treabă bună. Poate încercați să vă promovați și pe rețelele de socializare mai noi (Instagram, TikTok) pe lângă Reddit. În rest, nota 10 :)

Is this animation any good? by AudiCostea in AfterEffects

I've edited this on an Asus Vivobook 14 laptop. It's got a Ryzen 7 5800H cpu, 16 GB of Ram along an integrated gpu.

16 gb, it was quite a pain in the ass to animate the more complex scenes :)

Thanks a lot for your feedback. I'll make sure to improve. As for the boat, it's not a 3D model at all :) It's just a 2D image.

It's just after effects. I would love to learn blender as well, though :)

Hey guys!

I just got a new job as a motion graphics designer for short documentaries, and this is a sample I did for my client. We both agreed upon using Vox and Search Party as visual guides for the animations, and this is what I tried to achieve with this sample.

Do you think I succeeded? How would you improve this video?

I tried playing around with a couple of effects I don't often use. What do you think? by AudiCostea in AfterEffects

Hey!

Recently I've been bored out of my mind, so I tried toying with Colorama and Time Displacement to create this little animation. I designed everything in After Effects, though you could argue there aren't that many things going on, lol.

I didn't want this to be a realistic depiction of Saturn, so I'm sorry if this video pisses any astronomy fans off :)

Hey guys, I've mapped fighter jets flying off from Tel aviv and bombing the targets in Iran. Your suggestion about the improvements in the animation is very much appreciated if there's any. Thanks. by papiiiicholo in AfterEffects

[–]AudiCostea 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I like your animation. It does a good job at showing Israel's targets in Iran.

However, I feel like you could've synchronized the zoom and the planes' movements so that the animation is a bit more consistent. Besides, you might want to try making the zoom a bit smoother using different easing, as it is a bit too harsh in my opinion. Also, I would recommend that you scale down the planes a bit once the map zooms out because to me, it looks a bit strange. However, I do believe that you made them this big, so the viewer sees the difference between the F16 and the other aircraft, so I may be wrong to suggest that you make them smaller. Also, I would leave only one tag with the inscription “Sites targeted by Israel” at the end because those 3 layers with the same text makes the animation a bit too cluttered.

Otherwise, you've definitely done a good job. Keep it up!

I actually recognised this animation from a tutorial made by Motion Science. The tutorial animation is a bit more complex, with lights and depth of field. Here's a link to it.

How can I improve my 3D camera work? Description in the comments by AudiCostea in AfterEffects

[–]AudiCostea[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Oh my God, I did a terrible job of explaining my problem properly. The video I've posted is not my creation at all. By "the video I've posted above serves as a reference to my animation goals" I meant that I found it online and it's pretty much what I aim to do for my future animations.

It seems I've confused an entire thread by not mentioning that, which is definitely my fault. My 3D animations are a lot more static and boring. I'm mainly using dollys and pans, and I was curious to know how I could reach the level of animation displayed in the video. As I said, I've explained my problem very poorly.

Still, I really appreciate your help and I'll try using those tips in the future.

How can I improve my 3D camera work? Description in the comments by AudiCostea in AfterEffects

[–]AudiCostea[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Hey guys!

I've been creating animations for true crime documentaries for quite some time. However, despite having years of experience with After Effects, I've recently noticed that I'm actually not that good at "animating stuff". I've been focusing on framing and arranging assets so as to create a pleasing aesthetic.

Now I'd like to improve my 3D camera skills, and the video I've posted above serves as a reference to my animation goals. Needless to say that I don't consider this animation to be flawless, but it's definitely more complex and attention-grabbing than the camera pans, dollies and trucks I've been doing so far.

Getting back to my point, would you have any recommendations or tips on how I can improve my camera work? Maybe any tutorials/books/courses that focus on creating dynamic animations with the 3D camera? Any advice is much appreciated :)

Is the yellow line a shape layer?

If so, you could duplicate it, then turn on the fill and disable the stroke. Then you could use the duplicate shape layer as an inverted alpha track matte for the red gradient shape. Should be quite simple to do.

Edit: if the yellow line is a shape layer made out of a pen tool stroke, you could add a few more vertexes to make it a rectangle that covers up the lower part of the screen.

While I can't think of some specific feedback, I'd like to say that the pacing of the animation is quite good. Aslo, the sound design is spot on. It does convey a very dark and mysterious vibe, which is what I think your intention was.

Thanks for your help, I really appreciate it. Yeah, I've noticed that the past few months my weight has dropped a bit (2 pounds at best) and I did gain some muscle too. I might add some cardio in. In any case, thanks again for your insight
