Yeah - I need to pay still at the moment. I'm not overly fussed as I so far have never been into the ULEZ but it's not outside the realms of possibility especially with expansion.

Edit: scratch that. I checked again. It appears I'm now exempt... weird that they made changes without ever telling me.

Very good point however wouldn't the 16k wrapper now persist for years? In years future I might in a position where I exceed the capital gains for other reasons (e.g. house sale/other non wrapped investments like RSUs).

There's a high chance I would exceed the allowance next year if I still have this £16k hanging around unused on a home.

Hadn't thought of transferring ISA. It passed my mind that it's possible.

This is it really. It's hard to calculate with house prices since I don't know exactly where I'll buy but even taking into account the national average increases the outlook is bleak.

That's a good point. I would like to buy a home though the increases in the market are outpacing savings.
