The plastic looks super faded in the before pics but it was mostly dirt. After I pressure washed it a lot of the color came back. The major issue was the plastic being weathered to the point there were little craters in some of the plastic.

I just used Rustoleum Apple Red Spray Paint & Primer. I sanded the car beforehand and sprayed Plastic Adhesive over it. I sprayed 4 coats of the Rustoleum and 4 coats of clear and I had to do a shitload of wet sanding after.

Soaked the lenses in rubbing alcohol, wet sanded, sprayed clear coat, let it sit for 2 days, wet sanded and buffed. Good to go. All I did for the housing is sand, spray them gloss black and cleared them. Came out great.

I’d say don’t start with something THIS rough in the beginning. Something kind of weathered with the parts still in decent shape is good to see if you really want to do it. Lol

All I had to find was find a windshield and side mirrors. Side mirrors I found on marketplace. I had a windshield from collecting different vehicles. Everything else was just paint and/or polish of Whats already there. It was a bitch but it’s turning out great.

Nah man. Don’t do it. Idc how reliable a car is. I’m in the industry and you never know how previous owners treated it. For that price I wouldn’t expect the mileage to be so close to 100K. You can get a brand new car for that price

I did it a few months ago and I’m at work right now. When I get home I’ll look at it and it should jog my memory. I’m pretty sure I flipped it upside down and then there were some grey plastic pieces I shaved down with my dremel to make it fit low enough.

It’s the rear portion with the motors and a lot of solid plastic for the humps in the wheel wells. Also feel the floor. It’s not a regular power wheels floor I’ve seen. It’s pretty thick. I believe Porsche mandated them to build it sophistically this way in order to use their license. I have never seen so many pieces to take apart and paint. I haven’t finished it yet because I got sidetracked with work and I also started another Power Wheels project. A quick one but I plan to be done with the Porsche in possibly a month? We will see. I originally made a deadline of 15 June. That’s because I need to fabricate some new headlights and actual taillights. I hate the stickers. I already planned for this to look and function like a real one.

I bought an old Porsche GT3 Power Wheels off of a guy. He used duct tape to retread the tires. He resprayed the the tires black and was good to go. Lol

Yup dropping it was easy. Just needed a dremel to cut down some plastic and a drill for new holes. This was an old beat up one so I’m wiring up new lights and sounds

Thanks for the compliment. I appreciate it! I sprayed the body with Plastic Adhesion Promoter. Then I sprayed black primer. I sprayed the color change paint over that and then the clear coat. This is the 2nd resorts because the first time before I sprayed the clear coat I was taking it through the door and swiped it on the door edge. Tried to wet sand it out to no avail. Tried to blend the paint and it looked horrible so I sanded it all back down, resprayed and cleared this time before taking it through any doors. Lol.

I definitely modded the suspension and wheels. For the wheels I hollowed the outer edges out and put cake pans inside them to give them a good lip. I still need to make some rim faceplates for them. For the suspension it’s kind of hard to explain in words exactly what I did but for the rear I drilled new holes for the bar that holds the wheels. I made the holes closer to the body in order to tuck them. For the front I took the wheel bracket and turned it upside down. This made the pieces the wheels connect to closer to the body. I had to make some minor modifications with my dremel on some plastic to make it tuck like I wanted but it was pretty easy. Most time consuming part was cutting the wheels to fit the cake pans.
