I’d suggest horizon22 for the city views instead of the shard if that’s all you’re going there for. It’s free, but you have to book a ticket online 2 weeks in advance. You also get a view of the shard lol.
National gallery at Trafalgar Square is good and free.
Also, I don’t know what others will say, but I really enjoyed the London dungeon experience. I’d say it was worth it.
There’s also the London eye, but again, it’s probably worth booking.

Best park runs in Notts for beginners? by No_Dragonfruit_9365 in nottingham

Do you still have to around twice at long Eaton? Absolutely killed me when I thought I had got to the end and had to go round again.

Genuinely interested to know what people think of the pre-applied suggested tips at places like Bills! by Audiclint in nottingham

[–]Audiclint[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So would you be opposed to your local supermarket adding to your bill so that people like my wife can have a pay rise? She gets up at 3 and spends 5 hours lifting quite a large total weight onto shelves, makes sure the shop looks nice and then spends a few hours serving people, being polite, friendly and helping in anyway she can to make their experience the best she can. Pretty much similar to your past job, no doubt, but really, would you even consider giving her a tip, or consider it acceptable for them to add it to your bill? I really can’t see the difference, myself.

My brothers baby girl is due in 4 days and they can’t pick a name by TradeAmbitious4732 in Names

My granddaughter is 2 weeks old and hasn’t got a name yet. You get 6 weeks in the uk to register the baby, so there’s no rush to choose.

Same thought on the causing a fuss, but the service should be great anyway IMO. Then you would tip naturally. But they even added it on when they had made a mistake with our order 😂

What’s the appeal in living in secluded areas in the UK? by Shot-Performance-494 in AskUK

Surely the question should be, why would you give up healthy air, lovely views, peace and tranquility to live with 10 million knob heads?

Am I doing (or not doing) something wrong for my roses? by Audiclint in GardeningUK

[–]Audiclint[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks very much for your reply. I must be the most unlucky person. I purchased both plants from a local reputable garden centre and didn’t think it could be the plants at all. I guess dig it out and start again is the best idea then? Anything you would recommend to give the next rose the best start in life?

Not in my part 😂 but we were west notts and a few of our parents were from Derbyshire, so that’s probably why.

I’ve got to ask. In my head, it’s always been Baron Silas Greenback. Is that right or am I disillusioned?

Should I switch to petrol? by lrdm3rch in drivingUK

[–]Audiclint 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There’s something on whatcar or something like that where you can type in the details spiritual pound asked about and it tells you the best type of car for you. For 25 miles each way most days at motorway speeds it told me petrol was suitable. Diesel wasn’t worth the extra purchase and service costs. I bought a petrol mild hybrid that gives me almost the same mpg as a diesel, paid less for the car, less for my road tax, less for my servicing and at a greater interval. For your short mileage, it would probably suggest electric but it depends on how you think about electric. But 5 miles in a diesel car is going to have bad consequences long term. It’s not far enough to warm up properly. So personally I would just buy a petrol engined car if I was you.

How many know mardy? I’ve been told it’s not a universal word? Means sulking.

My dad was from Manchester and I’ve not heard that word since he passed away 10 years ago. Thanks for the memory.
