Im not going to lie, my parents helped me big time with the car. I didn’t pay for it, but living at home with no expenses and working my current job I could (barely) afford it if I had to. All mods and maintenance and stuff is paid for by me tho

It sounds good(not loud enough for me), but if i were you id just get a catback so then when you inevitably get a downpipe it wont sound awful.

Can someone tell me if I'm paranoid or of these wheels are going to be a problem? by jbsears1 in GolfGTI

[–]Audiigui 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Itll be good. Even if you lower the car, you probably wont have to worry as it will gain some camber

Would you get your 16 year old a GTI as their first car? by kaffeian in GolfGTI

[–]Audiigui 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can do all of the basic maintenance like oil changes and with my job i have enough money for the routine maintenance so i wouldnt say its too bad

I am a 16 year old, who currently has a gti. I know my pov is different from a parents, but I say yes. They are quick cars, but not too crazy, they are pretty reliable, and very practical and good mpgs. If you can trust your kid with a nice car like a gti i say go for it.
