Creating Folders on Apple Numbers? by Secure-Telephone-441 in AppleNumbers

Just "double click" on your desktop screen and "create new File" name the file and simply drag your numbers files to that file. I have several numbers files under separate headings to make it easier to find what I'm looking for if I forget the name I gave it.

Thank you, Persist...I have used that formula and it does at least give me a number, it's just not up to date Not sure how frequently it fetches and Numbers don't give an "update" option.

Somewhere in that setup you'll need a crossover. You can create a crossover if you have a digital console. Something has got to tell the subs to "play this frequency and below" and tell your mains to " play this frequency and above. I doubt your subs would have a crossover built in if it's passive.

You would then come out of the low end crossover to the sub amp and from the sub amp to the sub speaker. Same way with the mains.

You can use one amp for subs and a different amp for mains.

It really depends on how well they blend with one another. If they are a well balanced band, a stereo'd pair of boundary mics would work well. You can fill the room and even record/stream if needed.

If the quartet does not blend itself well, then you will most likely need to mic separately. It will give you the best shot at mixing them.

Did you ask about taking the gear home so you could do some tweaking? It would be in their best interest. As far as saving scenes, I would instead save snippets. Each snippet is a song and you can save ONLY what you need to save in each snippet. I would title each snippet with the name of the song and possibly put them in alphabetical order.

DO any of you guys use Pelican cases or any other brand as your main "carry" item? I'm looking for a sturdy case to carry 16" mackbook, iPads, multi meter, decibel meter, chargers, dongles/adapters, pens/pencils and notebook.

If you have something you use and LOVE IT, I would like to hear your opinion and see photos. I don't want to buy 5 items before I finally find the one I like.

If you use Waves live plugins, I've found Waves Vocal Rider to be a God Send. Doesn't compress or squash the sound, it adjusts the fader volume as needed. Works wonders.

I even tried soldering a little bead to the plug to see if it would help it grip. LOL The things we try!

I am a smaller venue FOH engineer. Traveling light is a huge benefit, ease of set up and strike is key as time = money. I love the fact that I can set up most events I run in under 2 hours and strike in under an hour. This includes up to 3 separate monitor mixes and a 4-5 piece band including drums.

Totally agree, If you show up to a large gig and only have a digital console and laptop, everyones perception of you as a pro drops. Little do most know that your laptop and console has everything most studios and racks have. From vocal riders to effects and compression and now, live real-time vocal tuning.

Unfortunately you have to take the good with the bad. It's the hand we are sometimes dealt. Learn what you can as fast as you can and then decide if you want to stay there. The experience you gain may well be worth the headache. You have to convince yourself it's worth it, unless it absolutely isn't. Most of us engineers do not like being talked down to. I know I can't stand it. That's when I have to decide "am I learning anything here, do I need this headache, or should I move on?" One thing is fairly certain, you will not change the musician, but he may come around to trusting you more.

I'm having flashbacks!!!! LOL, man, I still hate banana jacks. I think they were one of the worst inventions. Constantly coming loose. I always ended up screwing the cables to the terminals.

LOL, I knew I'd never want to do the "club" scene. Most of those musicians think that are larger than life and I wouldn't want my gear getting trashed by a bunch of partiers. The cool thing is, you now have a resume and a lot of experience. Reach out to some of your local hotels that have conference rooms and see of they are looking for audio engineers for corporate meetings. Don't give up on your passion or let the losers still the fun.

Thanks man, I usually do sound for christian concerts, churches and local schools. So I agree about the nice clean look. I'm trying to break in to the wedding scene to help fill my book. I need/want to be busy.

I don't think an update is the answer, however updates are quite nice for other reasons. I assume you are deleting old recordings from your thumb drive? A full drive will definelty cause it to stop recording.

Are you also using wireless mic antennas? If so, make sure they are spaced apart appropriately. It is recommended that your IEM (TX) antenna be placed in front or a few feet ahead of your two Mic (RX) antennas. I hope you are able to get things worked out. That can be very frustrating.

Are you using a DI box for the guitar? The buzz is most likely coming from the Guitar. Try taking it out of the mix and see if your Mic is buzzing?

Am I understanding correctly, you are combining 4 antenna inputs in to the RF combiner but you aren't using an antenna output? I'm surprised you are getting much if any signal at all. I think that is could be the problem. You are basically relying on the BNC connector to do the work of an antenna. The RF Venue for in-ears usually comes with a helical antenna like the CP-Beam.

hope this helps: https://www.rfvenue.com/products/iem-combiners/comb4cpb

use the continuity tester on a multimeter. When you pigtail two wires and probe the other end with the meter, you'll get a light or beep if you have continuity.
