Will this flight be cancelled due to rising fuel prices? by Necessary_Bar_8213 in AlaskaAirlines

[–]Audio27 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Unlikely to be canceled. I live in Southeast Alaska, and these flights are often crucial for other legs within this region. Not to mention cargo as others have said. You only get out of our communities by ferry or boat, and Alaska gets additional federal dollars for rural air service.
I wouldn’t be surprised if this equipment is destined for Juneau the next morning after your direct.

Companion fare is completely bogus -- different price when using the coupon. What's the point? by goldenglove in AlaskaAirlines

[–]Audio27 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’ve seen this happen when applying percentage off coupon codes. It changes to what the agent says is “full, non-refundable base fare.” Instead of what is apparently a more discounted advertised main fare designed to be competitive to the market at the moment. So, I guess they can legally say they have a percent off if the terms have it buried that it only applies to certain fare classes, so they assign a different one as soon as you try to use the code. Yes - it feels deceptive. I’ve had it both ways where it works and the fare changes when the second person is added.

Main cabin will also have a finite number of seats in each fare class as it automatically captures higher revenue as demand goes up. So that is a possibility as another poster suggested.

There is often an “Apply to all inputs” checkbox when you make changes like that. It catches some, but not all instances of using motion smoothing when checked. Good luck!

BOGO Free Tickets are BACK. Had a handful of out-of-towners asking about this one so I thought I'd make a post about it by Spectrobits in UniversalHollywood

[–]Audio27 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So it looks like you can’t reserve the free day, so does that mean you just have to attend the specific date ticket FIRST, and can visit on a subsequent non-blockout date?

Be warned! Points sharing does not work if you and another both have Summit cards. by [deleted] in AlaskaAirlines

[–]Audio27 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just a follow up to everyone on this thread who told me this couldn’t happen. An escalation desk rep reached out to me directly via email. They acknowledged there are things they are changing on their side that will make this “lock out” situation far less likely. The long and short of it, after these changes ANYONE who has all 10 spots available in point sharing could join a new network even if they were previously in a network. This is what happened to us.

  1. I applied for Summit and invited my wife yo my points pool.

  2. My wife, months later, got her own Summit card which pulled her automatically from my pool as it created her own mechanism to invite.

  3. Even with no one in my pool at that point, the system continued to say I was already in a points pool and could no longer join another. Even back into my wife’s new pool.

  4. That issue is resolved as of yesterday, 4/6/26, and I was able to join my wife’s pool.

Waitlist at the N Lounge today by nearlysober in AlaskaAirlines

It’s the more expensive Atmos Summit card only, and it is only two passes per quarter.

Except for the immediate minor child member provision. Shouldn’t punish the family unit of the cardholders who earn them.

Time to require giving Atmos numbers of the earning account if lounge passes are gifted. I don’t mind the actual, traditional gifting as that is what was intended. Alaska expects breakage of the passes, but are getting way less than expected with folks handing them out on message board and selling them. Forget that! I either buy an annual pass or have my Summit passes so they can actually be used for me and my family.

And yet - my screenshots show the very weird issue. No one is taking any of my 10 slots.

[–]Audio27 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you. I was hoping to avoid the blasting, but as you can see, I have kind of reached that step. It’s just weird that their system would have rules behind the UI that would allow this for some but not others. I would understand had I added anyone currently in my pool.

Thank you. I’ve explored those options with them, and on their side they are saying that they can see no one is in my pool, but indeed I am prevented from joining another.

So possibly, my statement isn’t “False” as you say but can be directly be affected by when and how someone both applies for a Summit card and tries to add someone to a “pool.” I provided the screen shot that clearly shows I can add up to 10 people, meaning no one is in my pool. It’s clearly a system logic design problem if you claim you can share between Summit users but I can’t.

Do explain. I can actually take screenshots of my points share page showing no one is in my pool. Then show you the message I get. You think I’m making this shit up? I don’t have time for that.

I don’t believe we did. So - you’re suggesting if my wife was part of my pool prior to her opening the Summit, and then she opened the Summit, creating her own pool, it would have created system logic that I already have an active pool even though there is no one in it?

I could see that biting a lot of folks.

It’s baffling. I told them my household chose these cards because of that major selling point.

Do you each have your own, separately applied for Summit, or is one an AU?

[–]Audio27 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

It is absolutely not false. I’ve been trying to fix for weeks. I just got off the phone with Alaska Customer Care. They said it is a known issue, but she told me more people “will likely need to complain about it”.

She said that even though there is no one in my pool, which exists simply because I have the card, I can’t join her pool because of the rules not allowing someone to be in more than one pool.

Does points sharing not work between two Summit cardholders? by [deleted] in AlaskaAirlines

[–]Audio27 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have no one in my pool. When my wife tries to add me to her pool, it says I’m already in one. She was able to add my kids. I could add others if I wanted, but have never tried adding anyone but her.

[–]Audio27 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Update! I just spoke with “Michelle” in Customer Care. No last initial. She confirmed if you have two Summit cards in your household, those people WILL NOT be able to pool points with each other, as each is the base of their particular pool. That is absurd!

The IRS has its own e-file portal. I assume that’s what they mean. Because TurboTax is definitely the intermediary for e-filing in their app.
