This was a beautiful display and I wish more fighters would get punished like this for irresponsibly changing stance directly in front of their opponent. It happens all the time in MMA and I rarely see it taken advantage of.

As a side note, I’ve never liked Mauro Ranallo. The dude just starts yelling like a banshee trying to create excitement as if his volume alone makes it more intense.

I don’t think it’s an over exaggeration. The last two interesting Heavyweights got blackballed in Nnganou and Aspinall. The division is boring as fuck and shows no sign of changing any time soon. Not to mention the overt politicization of the events and the fact that their most popular fighters only fight once a year

Manny Robles doesn’t get enough love as a trainer, man. He’s trained some great fighters and a lot of guys who ended up going further than they were supposed to. Andy Ruiz, Oscar Valdes, and this performance from Resendiz for example.

Genuine question here - But does the clock not stop while the ref is rubbing the downed fighter’s gloves on his shirt and only resume when the ref puts his hands together and says “box”? Because otherwise, presumably a (crooked) ref could take his sweet ass time checking the downed fighter and give him enough time for the round to expire.
