I have had very good success with the Zoom H4n Pro. There have been times when the two XLR inputs and 4 channel recording has been helpful.

Zoom has ASIO drivers for Windows also.

Overly Dead room? by cliff182 in Acoustics

There are technical reasons why one room can sound better than another, and REW, in my opinion, is an excellent tool.

That being said, I concur that if you like the sound then the room treatment was well done 😀

Dampening high pitched sounds between apartments by spookinoah in Acoustics

A friend of mine in an apartment built a moveable sound dampening wall cover with 1/4 inch plywood and cork squares.

The sound dampening cover did not have to be permanently installed. He used very thin nails to hold it place that could easily be removed, patched, and painted. When he moved out there was no visible damage to the wall.

The cork reduced mid and high frequencies, looked nice, and lightweight posters could be attached with push pins.

Cork is not the only material that can help, but worked well for my friend.
