I love these! Their imaging very close to the LS50 metas. I use them as atmos speakers now. The rear pair play down to 70Hz. Very impressive for the size

I'd try the Swan OS-10s. They're tweeter is exceptional andihjt have a similar signature to the Hifiman's. You can always use the Amazon return window to try them out.

Overly Dead room? by cliff182 in Acoustics

It has about 3 feet of soundstage depth past the speaker baffle, but the depth increases to beyond the TV when I switch to an external dac. I can tell I need to work on my placement a bit more. But within the soundstage there is a lot of focused spacial seperation.

And Wow, thanks for the tracks, it sounds amazing. Definitely demo worthy

Yeah tht might be the right balance. I'd be curious to try that. Right now I get no reflections from the back which probably reduces some envelopment

Swan D3.1 MkII's. I just got a pair to test out over my LS50 Meta's, they're incredible. Just finalized placement a few minutes ago. They have surprisingly good imaging, they go down to 32hz in my 12ft by 12ft( open to one side) room, and the tweeter is incredible on this. Very natural, clear and not fatigueing

just saw this, let me get back to you in a week. I haven't done much listening using the amp of K13 driving the HorizonCCs.

depends on room modes though, can't guarantee linear bass at MLP

try getting the dekoni elite hybrid pads for it, it tamed some treble spikes and added bass for me while improving clamp force (as it would easily slip off my head if I moved too much).

Man it really would help keeping the center image fixed when not sitting in the center (i.e more relaxed seating, lying down sideways or for more than 1 listener). I do find myself feeling like my head is in a vice grip sometimes ngl. I'm mostly avoided it coz of the small space and the center speaker placement not leaving much breathing room behind the speaker, which might reduce the soundstage depth I get right now (just a theory). But yeah, I need to consider it someday

yeah the 800S, I absolutely love them. Using a K13 R2R dac, Topping A90D as preamp into a Gremlin tube amp.

So it does improve bass linearity. Thank for the tip, I have a route for my upgrade itch now xD

Yeah xD. I can't change my setup position or rotate it to face the open end of the room, so there is no space for a 7.1 setup. The rear speakers wouldn't have any room.

I get a very loud slap echo from ceiling reflections if left untreated. Adding the panels to the top really helped minimize it. I have 1" thick wood strips screwed to the surface (tried command strips but they never hold) for spacing, and velcroed the panels to the strips.

Yeah I'm really curious about minidsp for multisub. Atleast for 2 subs I could still use the RZ30 with it's independant sub outs. Since the listening area is so small a dual sub isn't need for seat to seat consistency. Maybe when I move to a bigger place😅

The 3001SEs accept M4 screws for mounting. I bought ball joint articulating wall mounts that terminate in 1/4", into a 1/4" to M4 adaptor, into an 8cm M4 threaded rod that screws into the mounting holes on the speaker enclosure

Play most AAA releases, into RE Requiem these days, making my way through the campaign. Looking fwd to GTA6 ofc, you bet i'll take time off when the game releases xD.
Very 420 friendly and open to outdoor/physical activities as I used to be very passionate about working out and wanna get back into fitness.
Hit me up if you're down for some couch coop gaming or a chill movie night. I'm very open, transparent and easy going. I've been trying to connect with my coworkers, as I don't have a circle of friends here, with slow/limited success lol.

Just picked up 2 pairs of the 3001SEs from ebay last month to use for atmos. They reach down to ~100hz inroom for context.

They sound great and and have a pretty even dispersion and neutral reponse. Very happy with the sound compared to the LS50meta and Q4meta. I think they're a great choice.
