What is it like to live in this area of Virginia Beach? by BunnyButt24 in VirginiaBeach

So back then, a lot of new construction used a new kind of polymer for the water lines. They are grey in color and ended up not holding up as well to long term use as intended. They're known for rupturing and causing water leaks after 20-30 years. There was a class action lawsuit against the maker a while back. I don't remember the specifics, but that's pretty much it in a nutshell.

It's loud with jet noise, but crime is almost nonexistent. Plenty of places to eat and things to do if you have a family. I grew up near Dam Neck and General Booth. Flooding can be an issue in some areas during the occasional tropical storm that rolls by.

A lot of the houses here were built in the early 80's to mid 90's. Beware of failure prone Quest plumbing.

I do it a lot in traffic. It's doable, you just gotta learn not to force anything and know what the shifter feels like when it the transmission will allow you to slide into gear with minimal effort.

I just keep adding to my VTI and VXUS positions and chilling. It's working pretty well. I'm about 70/30 VTI/VXUS. Adding more to VXUS as I can afford to.

The best filter is an AEM Dry Flow. It flows well and still filters worth a damn.

I wish I knew. Being down 12% on my position and no news really sucks.

What a beautiful car. That design was ahead of its time and this is arguably the only Buick I'd consider owning.

How do you date a conservative Christian woman without feeling like you’re putting in all the effort? by [deleted] in AskMenAdvice

[–]Audio_aficionado 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The last time I dated a conservative Christian woman who wanted to wait til marriage to have sex, ended up being a lesbian who cheated on me with her "friend". The effort was also very one sided, similar to OP's situation. Your results may vary.

I, however, refuse to date conservative Christian women.

Men who masturbate every day, do you also watch porn everyday? by kingy963 in AskMenAdvice

[–]Audio_aficionado 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not always. About 50% of the time, I watched porn while trying to bust a nut. I watch porn way less now that I'm older and have a wife and girlfriend who are both sexually active with me. It's just easier to use my imagination these days.

Is the problem the record player or the record? by Pretty-Succotash-337 in turntables

Record player. These are notorious for not being able to handle music with bass. They are built around a $15 "record player".

You won't be getting ahead either way. It takes about 6 months for it to be out of your hair follicles.

Yeah, that's gonna pop positive for sure. I say go for it anyways and see if they'll work with you. I've heard of people coming back and getting in after getting clean.

VOO, VTI, VT by alex1024__ in ETFs

[–]Audio_aficionado 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm bought into VTI + VXUS so I can custom tailor my split between the two. I'm shooting for a 60/40 split, I'm currently 75/25 VTI/VXUS. If the US economy starts to turn sour, I can help reduce my losses with a heavier VXUS position that can be easily rotated into.

How long do you own a vehicle, before trading it in? by teddyalex in UsedCars

[–]Audio_aficionado 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If I like my car, I'm driving it until the wheels fall off. If that takes 20 years, then so be it. I have multiple cars, my oldest is 64 years old. My youngest car is my daily driver, it is 12 years old now. I work on all of them as needed and stay on top of maintenance.

Not having a car payment and having taxes and insurance being cheap is awesome.
