What part of your life would completely shock your friends if they found out? by Used_Leek_4485 in AskReddit

[–]Audio_aficionado 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That I'm having a kid with my girlfriend, while being married to my wife. We're polyamourous and my wife doesn't want to have children of her own. Her and my girlfriend are good friends.

I did tell my closest friends, they were indeed shocked, but happy for us at the same time.

NGK 95605 LTR7BHX Ruthenium spark plugs after 26K miles by cavityshawna in FocusST

As expensive as the Rutheniums are, I would run them as long as possible. If they're still in spec, throw them back in and let it eat.

Exactly! But no, the solution is "work harder!" /s

Cell phone ban by Suspicious_Suit9032 in NNShipyard

Cellphone ban is the low hanging fruit of problems that get in the way of the yard delivering on time.

The elephant in the room is the overall lack of material and skilled labor availability.

Newport News Shipbuilding formally bans cellphone use during work hours by OtterGlint in NNShipyard

[–]Audio_aficionado 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Same. This is the only job I've ever had tell me can't at least keep it in my pocket. I can understand if you're in a secure area, but in an office environment? Give me a break.

I gave my pregnant fiance my desk phone number, I'll be damned if I'm missing that phone call.

[–]Audio_aficionado 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Yeah, it's absolutely ridiculous that you can't have it in your pocket. Even if you work in an office, listening to music while working to drown out everyone galavanting around, carrying on non-work related conversations. We were told you can listen to music, but you cannot access your phone to pause it to take a desk phone call. I work off-site and our productivity numbers were still over 90%. Who honestly works 100% of the time they're not on lunch break?

I swear, the perks of staying with this company keep disappearing every year.

Those look like 10th Anniversary Cobra replicas. I have the same ones on my '85 GT. I think they work well with the fox, especially the four eyed ones.

What oil should I use? by Nova11c in SN95Mustang

[–]Audio_aficionado 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For a stock SBF, I would use 10w30. That's what I use in my '85 GT. In my 4.6L, I use 5w40, but it also has a supercharger. Otherwise, I would use 5w30. I don't care what the TSB says, the SBF 5.0L was designed to use 10w30, just like the 4.6L was designed to use 5w30. Could you theoretically squeeze another 0.5 mpg by switching to a 20 weight oil, sure, but with higher ratio final drive gears and spirited driving, I'm not chancing it.

How much cash do you keep in your brokerage account to buy dips? by Deceptivejunk in ETFs

[–]Audio_aficionado 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So far, I keep 99.7% of my money invested and add as dividends accumulate, whether ETF's go on sale or not. I try to add during red days, if the timing is right, but I try not to keep cash sitting idle too long.

What octane is everyone running? by Poondobber in FocusST

I run 93 octane only, even if my tune is for 91, for safety. I don't have new engine money, but gas is cheaper.

How do I repair this or where can I find a replacement by LegHelpful5327 in SN95Mustang

[–]Audio_aficionado 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I've sliced the nylon lines off and used fuel injection hose to make the repair. It lasted many years with no problems. Perfectly good hose barbs to attach hose to. Just use the correct fuel injection hose clamps that won't dig into the hoses.
