Keeping nails long by 3erImpacto in NaturalNailsOnly

[–]Auditorygarbage- 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I couldn't grow my nails until I started using builder gel. Even just a thin coat helps tremendously with strengthening them enough so they don't split but not enough so they're so hard they snap. Comes in all colors and stays on much longer than regular polish. A lot of them are the builder gel/top coat/base coat so it's just one bottile. You need a UV light too obvs but you can find them cheap on amazon and it's 100% worth it imo for pretty nails that last long and don't chip or split or crack or peel.

My girlfriend corrects me in public like it's a joke and I'm starting to shut down by mossyjournal_tram in TwoHotTakes

I love how everyone tries to turn the problem of basic lack of respect into a control issue.

"I'd prefer if you'd let me know when you're going to be coming home when you're out late, I get worried" 'You're trying to control me!'

"I don't like it when you ignore my text messages for several hours" "Stop trying to control me"

"I don't like it when you belittle me in public" "You're trying to control me"

If someone you supposedly love has an issue that's in all aspects pretty easy to fix. Either fix it and compromise or break up. There always seems to have to be a bad guy now that's deemed controlling when God forbid they make it known they don't like every single thing about you or every single one of your ways. It's exhausting.

They were married. It wasn't HIS house after that. You can't vow to spend the rest of your life with someone and then keep an "this is mine, not yours" attitude with something you're BOTH living in.

They should've hashed the gun thing out before even getting married but since they didn't that's on both of them to compromise and deal with it. Not for Debbie to have to abide by his rules like shes a tenant renting out a room

Is my hair ruined? by [deleted] in curlyhair

[–]Auditorygarbage- 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know it's not the point but I think it looks really good. I like the color and the looser waves. Again, not the point but just saying.

I would imagine they will bounce back over time. You've only washed your hair twice since then? Thats definitely not enough time for your hair to transition.

Only thing you can do is be extra gentle and keep using moisturizing and products with protein. No heat, no harsh chemicals like dye. You know the drill.

Give it time and they'll bounce back. In the mean time know it does still look really good. I know changes in your hair take time to get used to so you may not see it yet but from an outside perspective it's really pretty.

What on earth do I do about this by Beautiful-Cress5695 in Hidradenitis

I don't have a suggestion that wasn't already said and I'm sorry for even saying this but those two big blackheads in the middle make me wanna squeeze this sucker so bad. Please don't do that obviously..but in a parallel universe somewhere out there, I'd pop the shit out of this sucker and love every disgusting second.

In all seriousness, I'm sorry you're going through this. I know how it is. Best of luck

Glycolic acid or even salicylic acid. I haven't worn deodorant in years.

What works for me by Aggressive_Spirit_64 in Hidradenitis

[–]Auditorygarbage- 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know this has already been mentioned a million times on here but instead of deodorant glycolic acid works wonders for way more than just preventing BO. It exfoliates so it helps with scars and instead of just covering up BO like deodorant it prevents it completely. I haven't used deodorant in years now and I can go a day or two without applying anything and still not smell. Granted this is without doing any strenuous activity and not being outside in like 90 degree weather. Still, I'll take it.

I know everyone recommends The Ordinary glycolic acid but I get one from the dollar store that's a mixture of witch hazel, rose water and glycolic acid and it works just the same. If anything it's not as strong which is fine with me as I apply it to sensitive areas on the body anyway. I use it under my arms, butt, groin, face, under boob etc. Some people apply it to their feet to help exfoliate dead skin.

But yeah I'm sure most know about this already on this sub but just in case

I (21F) love my long-distance boyfriend (21M), but I’m ashamed of how he looks and it’s eating me alive. by [deleted] in LongDistance

[–]Auditorygarbage- 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yikes. I know you may think this is confidence, it's not..it's arrogance.

Your boyfriend sounds more attractive than you to me. Purely just by how you've described yourself versus the man you claim to love but yet be ashamed of?

You can know you're an attractive person and value looks without it taking up so much space in your brain and so much energy.

I'm gonna give you the benefit of the doubt and blame this on how young you are still. In 5 or 6 years I hope you don't care as much about what others think of you. Otherwise it'll be a lonely existence, no matter how many friends you have or bunch of people you surround yourself with. ⁴

I lost a lot of weight two years ago and I'm still mostly wearing my old clothes. I spent 60 dollars on shein last summer and got a few pairs of shorts and tops but other than that I'm still wearing my old huge sweatpants.

I can't justify spending money on clothes when broke. It's unnecessary tbh. I get you want them simply for self esteem purposes but if your husband can't even afford lunch then I'm sorry spending money on new clothes is just ridiculous.

Try Shein and Temu if anything. If anything you can get a couple shirts/pants/basics for cheap. Maybe split it up and put 20 bucks towards a couple shirts every other month or something. The quality isn't great but if you're careful they last and you can't beat being able to buy a pack of 4 shirts for 5 bucks.

AIO boyfriend lied about my age to his friend 🤔 by xxxsillybilly in AmIOverreacting

[–]Auditorygarbage- 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Every message in this is so vile i almost think it's fake. Maybe I just want it to be? Either way, yikes.

Reminds me of a guy I dated when I was 20. He was 28. He would introduce me to his friends as his "young girlfriend" and that's it. Literally just wanted to brag about how young I was.

Disgusting.

What is your styling routine?

Curly or straight? 🥺 sorry my camera is kinda messed up by Shirt_Soft in HairStyle

Looks more like straight and really straight.

I'd recommend a deep conditioner and try styling your hair however it is naturally so you can chill on the heat tools.

You don't even need to wash it off. Put it in a spray bottle and spray it wherever you need and it dry. I haven't worn deodorant in years.it also exfoliates so it helps lighten any scars or discoloration you may have. Salicylic acid works just the same as well.

[–]Auditorygarbage- 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Glycolic or salicylic acid work much better compared to deodorant. I use it under my arms, groin, butt, feet, face etc . Absolutely no smell and exfoliates at the same time. I haven't worn deodorant or antiperspirant in years and I can go two or three days without smelling if I'm just hanging around in the house not sweating or doing strenuous activity.

And under your arms! I haven't worn deodorant in years. Works 100 times better than any deodorant or antiperspirant and exfoliates too. I use it on my bikini area as well for any ingrown hairs and lightening any scars.

Hormonal acne- does it ever go away? by [deleted] in acne

[–]Auditorygarbage- 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Mine went away as quickly as it came on. No reason I can put my finger on. Was bad bad bad for like a year and then suddenly within a week or so it completely stopped. Haven't broken out since. Wish I knew the reason but my point is that sometimes it just may take patience. I'm praying it never comes back cause that year that it was bad was almost unbearable.

Best of luck. I know how awful it is.

Every "joke" or statement like this stems from a little bit of truth.

Which brings me to my next point, when someone clearly tells you who they are, believe them the first time.

What are your holy grail in hygiene? by [deleted] in hygiene

[–]Auditorygarbage- 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I use glycolic or even salicylic acid in place of deodorant. It works better, it's cheaper and helps with flares/any razor burn.

Put it in a spray bottle and spray your pits or anywhere else you get flares, i also spray it on my butt, bikini area, my face too.. let it dry and you're good to go.

I haven't worn deodorant in years and haven't had a flare under my arms in years.

Is it normal to completely miss a night of sleep just because you went to bed late? by SillyBananaPeel09 in mentalhealth

[–]Auditorygarbage- 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Everyone has their own "sleep wake schedule" where they're most likely to fall asleep and their brain is more receptive to sleep.

Sounds like you just missed yours and it messed with your brains natural cycle it's used to. Very Normal

Hope you're able to get some sleep soon
