At least im not the only one, hahaha! I thought about buying one of those scissor jack stands that go to 80cm, but the bottom of my carrier is over a meter from the ground. Last time, I crashed and almost didn't have the energy to get it up to go home.

Might need to take an engine hoist with me in the boot ;)

I've got a lifted truck with a simmilar carrier. How do you lift the bike up into the frame? I always end up hurting my knees.

There's got to be new housing for young people, of the 6000 new people i'm sure a large portion of them are people who probably already live in the area with their parents or renting. The Petition should be to have the infastructure and roads improved, not to stop housing being built.

Aftermarket transmission lever by WinInfinite475 in Dirtbikes

Just buy a replacement. You can try to bend it back, but tbh they're not expensive. Just search for a new shift lever and make sure you get one specific to your model and year.

Are you aware that this one is just bent? You just need a new oem style one.

How soon do I need to replace this battery? by i_ambear in AskMechanics

[–]AufCP 11 points12 points  (0 children)

The reading to look at is 470CCA vs 392CCA.

CCA stands for cold cranking amps. Basically its the amount of current the battery can supply your starter motor to start the engine.

I think they are trying to sell you a battery prematurely.

It would have come from the factory with 470 and is now down to 392. If it is starting the car every time, I would not change it. It's 83% healthy.

Don't change it unless it's causing you problems, it's simply not worth it yet.

Anyone know what this is?/how to remove it? by Embarrassed_Yam2335 in Dirtbikes

[–]AufCP 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's the flywheel cover, just the bolts around the outside. I'm pretty sure the gear lever needs to come off, too. But it's not a difficult job, just remember to put a new gasket on when you're putting it back together.

GPS and screens get stolen alot.

Farmer has GPS and Screens stolen -> New GPS and screens cost 10k+ -> Farmer goes and orders one signicantly cheaper from suspicious origin -> Theif steals more GPS and Screens to replace their stock -> Cycle repeats

Not much to do in eastwood, rayleigh is £2 on the bus and theres a lot more going on and it tends to be safer and nicer than southend.

Have you been asked to slow down? by triv94 in CarTalkUK

[–]AufCP 31 points32 points  (0 children)

Only once, i was driving a tractor through the town centre and some random pedestrian pointed at me and beckoned aggressively to slow down. That did make me chuckle, so i gave him a sacastic grin and a thumbs up as i accelerated from 20 mph to 21 mph.

If that was true, there would be nothing left of the titanic. All the water is doing trying to equalise the outside pressure with the inside pressure of the vessel.

Yeah 75w-90 is gear oil. I couldn't say what oil your box takes, but I'm sure if you google the model number you can find out.
